We investigate in detail the class of Euclidean affine Kac-Moody symmetric spaces and their orthogonal symmetric affine Kac-Moody algebras (OSAKAs). These spaces are the only class of Kac-Moody symmetric spaces, that is not directly derived from affine Kac-Moody algebras in the classical sense.

Since the work of Henri Cartan finite dimensional Riemannian symmetric spaces are an important subject of mathematical interest. They are related in a natural way to semisimple Lie groups. In this work we introduce and study their infinite dimensional generalization: Affine Kac-Moody symmetric spaces. Affine Kac-Moody …
Riemannian symmetric spaces are fundamental objects in finite dimensional differential geometry. An important problem is the construction of symmetric spaces for generalizations of simple Lie groups, especially their closest infinite dimensional analogues known as Kac-Moody groups. We solve this problem and construct a…
A subgroup of a Kac-Moody group is called bounded if it is contained in the intersection of two finite type parabolic subgroups of opposite signs. In this paper, we study the isomorphisms between Kac-Moody groups over arbitrary fields of cardinality at least 4, which preserve the set of bounded subgroups. We show that …
We study spin structures on affine Kac-Moody symmetric spaces and obtain sufficient conditions for their existence.\ As a by product of this, we obtain a spin-c representation of certain Kac-Moody quadratic subgroups of type E.
The geometry of symmetric spaces, polar actions, isoparametric submanifolds and spherical buildings is governed by spherical Weyl groups and simple Lie groups. A natural generalization of semisimple Lie groups are affine Kac-Moody groups as they mirror their structure theory and have good explicitely known representati…
The relationship between minimal algebraic Kac-Moody groups and twin buildings is well known as is the relationship between formal completions in one direction and affine buildings. Nevertheless, as the completion of a Kac-Moody group in one direction destroys the opposite BN-pair, there exists no longer a twin buildin…
It is proved that the ring of invariants of the standard smooth completion of a Kac-Moody Lie algebra is functionally generated by two elements: the coefficient of the center and the Killing form.
Extends PF submanifold results and connects Kac-Moody spaces.
We describe some buildings related to complex Kac-Moody groups. First we describe the spherical building of SLn(C) (i.e. the projective geometry PG(Cn)) and its Veronese representation. Next we recall the construction of the affine building associated to a discrete valuation on the rational function field . Then …
For spherical Tits buildings of the classical types there are well-known explicit descriptions as flag complexes. Similarly for affine buildings of the classical types there are explicit constructions in terms of lattices. In this article we generalize the flag complex description to twin cities, a generalization of tw…
Automorphisms of finite order and real forms of "smooth" affine Kac-Moody algebras are studied, i.e. of 2-dimensional extensions of the algebra of smooth loops in a simple Lie algebra. It is shown that they can be parametrized by certain invariants and that in particular the classification of involutions essentially fo…
Classifies central extensions for area-preserving diffeomorphisms and shows they are fuzzy sphere limits.
Some moduli spaces of irregular connections on the trivial bundle over the Riemann sphere will be identified with Nakajima quiver varieties. In particular this enables us to associate a Kac-Moody root system to such connections (yielding many isomorphisms between such moduli spaces, via the reflection functors for the …
Research characterizes intersection cohomology groups of gauge theories and cotangent bundles.
Continuing the previous work, we propose a further extension of the structure equation for a truncated CMC hierarchy by the non-commuting, truncated Virasoro algebra of non-local symmetries. Via a canonical dressing transformation, we first define a wave function for the CMC hierarchy. This leads to a pair of additiona…
The Bäcklund problem is solved for both the compact and noncompact versions of the Ishimori (2+1)-dimensional nonlinear spin model. In particular, a realization of the arising Bäcklund algebra in the form of an infinite-dimensional loop Lie algebra of the Kač--Moody type is provided.
The group of simplicial automorphisms of a Tits-Kac-Moody ininite building of thickness q associated to a cocompact reflexion group with fundamental domain a simplex, is Kazhdan for q sufficiently large. Thus we obtain families of new Kazhdan groups: two in dimension 3 and one in dimension 4. The proof uses continuos c…
We introduce the new class of submanifolds of co-Banach type in tame Fréchet manifolds and construct tame Fréchet submanifolds as inverse images of regular values of certain tame maps. Our method furnishes an easy way to construct tame Fréchet manifolds. The results presented are key ingredients in the construction of …
We investigate subgroups of SL (n,Z) which preserve an open nondegenerate convex cone in real n-space and admit in that cone as fundamental domain a polyhedral cone of which some faces are allowed to lie on the boundary. Examples are arithmetic groups acting on selfdual cones, Weyl groups of certain Kac-Moody algebras …
Starting from the free field realization of Kac-Moody Lie algebra, we define a generalized Yang-Yang function. Then for the Lie algebra of type , we derive braiding and fusion matrix by braiding the thimble from the generalized Yang-Yang function. One can construct a knots invariant from the braiding and …
We describe an interesting relation between Lie 2-algebras, the Kac-Moody central extensions of loop groups, and the group . A Lie 2-algebra is a categorified version of a Lie algebra where the Jacobi identity holds up to a natural isomorphism called the "Jacobiator". Similarly, a Lie 2-group is a c…
For six dimensional nilmanifolds we build a module of an affine Kac Moody vertex algebras. Then, we associate some logarithmic fields for the module and we study their singularities. We also presented a physics motivation behind this construction. We study a particular case, we show that whe…

Extended current algebra on S^3 with new bilinear form and 2-cocycle.
In this paper we describe how one can obtain Lie group structures on the group of (vertical) bundle automorphisms for a locally convex principal bundle P over the compact manifold M. This is done by first considering Lie group structures on the group of vertical bundle automorphisms Gau(P). Then the full automorphism g…
We explain how, starting with a stack of D4-branes ending on an NS5-brane in type IIA string theory, one can, via T-duality and the topological-holomorphic nature of the relevant worldvolume theories, relate (i) the lattice models realized by Costello's 4d Chern-Simons theory, (ii) links in 3d analytically-continued Ch…
We show that a left-invariant metric g on a nilpotent Lie group N is a soliton metric if and only if a matrix U and vector v associated the manifold (N,g) satisfy the matrix equation Uv = [1], where [1] is a vector with every entry a one. We associate a generalized Cartan matrix to the matrix U and use the theory of Ka…
We construct knot invariants categorifying the quantum knot variants for all representations of quantum groups. We show that these invariants coincide with previous invariants defined by Khovanov for sl(2) and sl(3) and by Mazorchuk-Stroppel and Sussan for sl(n). Our technique uses categorifications of the tensor produ…
This paper gives an exposition of relative weight filtrations on completions of mapping class groups associated to a stable degeneration of marked genus g curves. These relative weight filtrations have been constructed using Galois theory (with Matsumoto) and Hodge theory (with Pearlstein and Terasoma). It is shown tha…
This paper is based on the introduction to the monograph ``Double affine Hecke algebras'' to be published by Cambridge University Press. The connections with Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov equations, Kac-Moody algebras, tau-function, harmonic analysis on symmetric spaces, and special functions are discussed. The rank one case …
It has been known for some time that there exist essentially different real forms of the complex affine Kac-Moody algebra of type and that one can associate of these real forms with certain classes of "integrable surfaces", such as minimal Lagrangian surfaces in and …
The -hierarchy is constructed from the standard splitting of the affine Kac-Moody algebra , the Drinfeld-Sokolov -KdV hierarchy is obtained by pushing down the -flows along certain gauge orbit to a cross section of the gauge action. In this paper, we (1) u…
The worldvolume theory of coincident M5-branes is expected to contain a nonabelian 2-form/nonabelian gerbe gauge theory that is a higher analog of self-dual Yang-Mills theory. But the precise details -- in particular the global moduli / instanton / magnetic charge structure -- have remained elusive. Here we deduce from…
In previous work a relation between a large class of Kac-Moody algebras and meromorphic connections on global curves was established---notably the Weyl group gives isomorphisms between different moduli spaces of connections, and the root system is also seen to play a role. This involved a modular interpretation of many…
For a symmetrizable Kac-Moody Lie algebra , we construct a family of weighted quivers () whose cluster modular group contains the Weyl group as a subgroup. We compute explicit formulae for the corresponding cluster - and …

WZW models are abstract conformal field theories with an infinite dimensional symmetry which accounts for their integrability, and at the same time they have a sigma model description of closed string propagation on group manifolds which, in turn, endows the models with an intuitive geometric meaning. We exploit this d…
We consider various generalisations of the string class of a loop group bundle. The string class is the obstruction to lifting a bundle whose structure group is the loop group to one whose structure group is the Kac-Moody central extension of the loop group. We develop a notion of higher string classes for bundles…
