The interior polynomial is an invariant of (signed) bipartite graphs, and the interior polynomial of a plane bipartite graph is equal to a part of the HOMFLY polynomial of a naturally associated link. The HOMFLY polynomial PL(v,z)P_L(v,z) is a famous link invariant with many known properties. For example, the HOMFLY polynom…

We reformulate Lehmer's question from 1933 and a question due to Schinzel and Zassenhaus from 1965 in terms of a comparison of the Mahler measures and the houses, respectively, of monic integer reciprocal and skew-reciprocal polynomials of the same degree. This entails that understanding the difference between orientat…

result Complexity growth of signed graphs is related to the growth rate of Alexander polynomials.

For a signed cyclic graph G, we can construct a unique virtual link L by taking the medial construction and convert 4-valent vertices of the medial graph to crossings according to the signs. If a virtual link can occur in this way then we say that the virtual link is graphical. In the article we shall prove that a virt…

Let GG be a signed graph. Let G^\hat{G} be the graph obtained from GG by replacing each edge ee by a chain or a sheaf. We first establish a relation between the QQ-polynomial of G^\hat{G}[6] and the WW-polynomial of GG [9]. Two special dual cases are derived from the relation, one of which has been studied in [8]…

We derive a closed formula for the Heegaard Floer correction terms of lens spaces in terms of the classical Dedekind sum and its generalization, the Dedekind-Rademacher sum. Our proof relies on a reciprocity formula for the correction terms established by Ozsvath and Szabo. A consequence of our result is that the Casso…

We express the coefficients of the Hirzebruch L-polynomials in terms of certain alternating multiple zeta values. In particular, we show that every monomial in the Pontryagin classes appears with a non-zero coefficient, with the expected sign. Similar results hold for the polynomials associated to the A-hat genus.

We consider two well known constructions of link invariants. The other uses quantum groups: you con…
