10 results for p-parabolicity

We provide some criteria to pp-parabolicity of Riemannian submersions. In particular, if NN is pp-parabolic and π:MNπ:M\to N is a Riemannian submersion with uniformly bounded volume of fibers, then MM is also pp-parabolic. In the case of warped manifolds we characterize pp-parabolicity in terms of a volume growth c…

New equivalences found linking parabolicity, comparison principle, and capacity on Riemannian manifolds.

problem Understanding parabolicity and related concepts on Riemannian manifolds.
method Establishing new equivalences between parabolicity, comparison principle, and capacity.
result Equivalence between pp-parabolicity and the comparison principle for the pp-Laplace equation.

The paper proves conditions for a manifold to be p-parabolic under Ricci curvature decay assumptions.

problem Conditions for a manifold to be p-parabolic under specific Ricci curvature decay assumptions.
method Analyzes Riemannian manifolds with given Ricci curvature bounds and proves p-parabolicity.
result The manifold is p-parabolic under the specified Ricci curvature conditions.

We present some new Stokes' type theorems on complete non-compact manifolds that extend, in different directions, previous work by Gaffney and Karp and also the so called Kelvin-Nevanlinna-Royden criterion for (p-)parabolicity. Applications to comparison and uniqueness results involving the p-Laplacian are deduced.

The paper extends Huber's theorem to higher dimensions using n-Laplace equations.

problem Proving finite point conformal compactification for general dimensions.
method Using n-Laplace equations and strengthened Arsove-Huber's theorem.
result Established finite point conformal compactification theorem for manifolds.

Motivated by the rich geometry of conformal Riemannian manifolds and by the recent development of geometries modeled on homogeneous spaces G/PG/P with GG semisimple and PP parabolic, Weyl structures and preferred connections are introduced in this general framework. In particular, we extend the notions of scales, clos…

We prove a general comparison result for homotopic finite pp-energy C1C^{1} pp-harmonic maps u,v:MNu,v:M\to N between Riemannian manifolds, assuming that MM is pp-parabolic and NN is complete and non-positively curved. In particular, we construct a homotopy through constant pp-energy maps, which turn out to be pp-ha…

The aim of this paper is to present and discuss some equivalent characterizations of p-parabolicity in terms of existence of special exhaustion functions. In particular, Khas'minskii in [K] proved that if there exists a 2-superharmonic function k defined outside a compact set such that limxk(x)=\lim_{x\to \infty} k(x)=\infty,…
