In this paper, we study general (α,β)(α,β)-metrics which αα is a Riemannian metric and ββ is an one-form. We have proven that every weak Landsberg general (α,β)(α,β)-metric is a Berwald metric, where ββ is a closed and conformal one-form. This show that there exist no generalized unicorn metric in this class of general $(…

We show that a smooth complex projective threefold admits a holomorphic one-form without zeros if and only if the underlying real 6-manifold fibres smoothly over the circle, and we give a complete classification of all threefolds with that property. Our results prove a conjecture of Kotschick in dimension three.

An anologue of the Calabi invariant for Poisson manifolds is considered. This paper describes a new parameter-free online learning algorithm for changing environments. In comparing against algorithms with the same time complexity as ours, we obtain a strongly adaptive regret bound that is a factor of at least log(T)\sqrt{\log(T)} better, where TT is the time horizon. Empirical results show tha…

A key challenge in online learning is that classical algorithms can be slow to adapt to changing environments. Recent studies have proposed "meta" algorithms that convert any online learning algorithm to one that is adaptive to changing environments, where the adaptivity is analyzed in a quantity called the strongly-ad…

We discuss the Morse-Novikov cohomology of a compact manifold, associated to a closed one--form whose free abelian group generated by its periods γη[γ]π1(M)\langle \int_γη\mid [γ] \in π_1(M)\rangle is of rank 1, the focus being on locally conformally symplectic manifolds. For a holomorphic one-form ξ\mathbfξ on a weakly 1-complete manifold XX with certain properties, we discussed the connectivity of the pair (X^,F1(z))(\hat{X}, F^{-1}(z)), where π:X^Xπ: \hat{X} \to X is a covering map and dF=πξdF=π^*\mathbfξ. We also discussed the criteria about when such a manifold XX admits a proper holomorphic …

A conjecture of Kotschick predicts that a compact Kähler manifold XX fibres smoothly over the circle if and only if it admits a holomorphic one-form without zeros. In this paper we develop an approach to this conjecture and verify it in dimension two. In a joint paper with Hao, we use our approach to prove Kotschick's…

One knows that the large time heat decay exponent on a nilpotent group is given by half the growing rate of the volume of its large balls. This work deals with the similar problem of trying to interpret geometrically the heat decay on (one) forms. We will show how it is (partially) related to the depth of the relations…
