Using the interpretation of certain generalised Donaldson-Thomas invariants, including stable pairs curve counts, as the monodromy of a flat connection on a formal principal bundle, we show that the conjectural Gopakumar-Vafa contributions of all genera to the Gromov-Witten partition function appear in the asymptotics …
The study shows that several properties are not profinite invariants.
We present an approach to Gromov-Witten invariants that works on arbitrary (closed) symplectic manifolds. We avoid genericity arguments and take into account singular curves in the very formulation. The method is by first endowing mapping spaces from (prestable) algebraic curves into the symplectic manifold with the st…
New quasimorphisms show stable commutator lengths are not equivalent.
Given a planar curve singularity, we prove a conjecture of Oblomkov-Shende, relating the geometry of its Hilbert scheme of points to the HOMFLY polynomial of the associated algebraic link. More generally, we prove an extension of this conjecture, due to Diaconescu-Hua-Soibelman, relating stable pair invariants on the c…
We set up foundations of representation theory over , the sphere spectrum, which is the `initial ring' of stable homotopy theory. In particular, we treat -Lie algebras and their representations, characters, -Verma modules and their duals, Harish-Chandra pairs and Zuckermann functors. As an application, w…
In this paper, we introduce some notions on the pair consisting of a Chern connection and a Higgs field closely related to the first and second variation of Yang-Mills- Higgs functional, such as strong Yang-Mills-Higgs pair, degenerate Yang-Mills-Higgs pair, stable Yang-Mills-Higgs pair. We investigate some properties …
The paper proves that relative Dehn functions are invariant under quasi-isometry.
Study deformation invariants of projective surfaces using twisted sheaves and Azumaya algebras.
The paper studies the moduli space of Higgs pairs and their geometric properties.
Authors prove existence of exotic surfaces and invariants not detecting self-diffeomorphisms.
We compute cup product pairings in the integral cohomology ring of the moduli space of rank two stable bundles with odd determinant over a Riemann surface using methods of Zagier. The resulting formula is related to a generating function for certain skew Schur polynomials. As an application, we compute the nilpotency d…
In a previous paper we have constructed an invariant of four-dimensional manifolds with boundary in the form of an element in the stable homotopy group of the Seiberg-Witten Floer spectrum of the boundary. Here we prove that when one glues two four-manifolds along their boundaries, the Bauer-Furuta invariant of the res…
Knot invariants and quiver stability linked through full twists.
Characterizes slopes for Markov ordering on prime pairs.
For even dimensional conformal manifolds several new conformally invariant objects were found recently: invariant differential complexes related to, but distinct from, the de Rham complex (these are elliptic in the case of Riemannian signature); the cohomology spaces of these; conformally stable form spaces that we may…
Proves algebraic version of Hamilton-Tian conjecture for log Fano pairs.
Let be a group with a finite balanced presentation . We associate a Heegaard Floer homology group with the pair based on some extra choices and technical assumptions. We show that is independent from these choices and also is invariant under stable Andrews-Curtis t…
The paper explores density of stable mappings and their properties.
The 'moduli continuity method' permits an explicit algebraisation of the Gromov-Hausdorff compactification of Kähler-Einstein metrics on Fano manifolds in some fundamental examples. In this paper, we apply such method in the 'log setting' to describe explicitly some compact moduli spaces of K-polystable log Fano pairs.…
Proves finitely generated associated graded rings for valuations on log Fano pairs.
On a polarised surface, solutions of the Vafa-Witten equations correspond to certain polystable Higgs pairs. When stability and semistability coincide, the moduli space admits a symmetric obstruction theory and a action with compact fixed locus. Applying virtual localisation we define invariants constant …
The study examines spaces of non-extendable quasimorphisms for group pairs.
Building on ideas from [DT98; DS11; Wal17; Hay17], we outline a proposal for constructing Floer homology groups associated with a G2-manifold. These groups are generated by associative submanifolds and solutions of the ADHM Seiberg-Witten equations. The construction is motivated by the analysis of various transitions w…
Let K be a knot embedded in a Heegaard surface S for a closed orientable 3-manifold M. We define K-stable equivalence between pairs (S, K) and (S', K) in M, and we prove that any two pairs are K-stably equivalent in M if they have the same surface slope.
New invariant for 4-manifolds with framed links, stronger than existing invariants.
The purpose of the present paper is to set up a formalism inspired from non-Archimedean geometry to study K-stability. We first provide a detailed analysis of Duistermaat-Heckman measures in the context of test configurations, characterizing in particular the trivial case. For any normal polarized variety (or, more gen…
The paper solves conditions for non-singular extensions of fold maps.
We investigate Chow stability of projective bundles P(E) where E is a strictly Gieseker stable bundle over a base manifold that has constant scalar curvature. We show that, for suitable polarisations L, the pair (P(E),L) is Chow stable and give examples for which it is not asymptotically Chow stable.
New infinite family of 4-manifolds with same stable properties but not homotopy equivalent.
Paper introduces 'zippers' for constructing universal circles.
We show that a projective manifold is stable if and only if the Mabuchi energy is proper on the space of algebraic metrics. We show that stability implies finite automorphism group.
Established a stable cohomotopy refinement for Pin(2) monopole invariants.
The monopole map defines an element in an equivariant stable cohomotopy group refining the Seiberg-Witten invariant. This first of two articles presents the details of the definition of the stable cohomotopy invariant and discusses its relation to the integer valued Seiberg-Witten invariant.
The study explores stable diffeomorphism groups in 4-manifolds using localisation and invariants.
New stable exotic 4-manifolds found with specific topological properties.
Study TMF-valued TQFT for closed 3-manifolds using torsion linking pairings.
This is a survey article on the stable cohomotopy refinement of Seiberg-Witten invariants containing also new results, for example: - Stable cohomotopy groups describe path components of certain mapping spaces. - Relation of stable cohomotopy invariants to Seiberg-Witten invariants without restriction on Betti numbers.…
Survey on invariant quasimorphisms and their relation to stable commutator length.
We will prove the equivariant version of Smale's transversality theorem: suppose that the compact Lie-group G acts on the compact differentiable manifold M on which an invariant Morse-function f and an invariant vector field X are given so that X is gradient-like with respect to f (i.e. X(f)<0 away from critical orbits…
Paper introduces new invariant for pairs of immersions.
Paper finds Hempel pairs distinguishable by Turaev-Viro invariants.
In this paper, we study distribution of the zeros of the Alexander polynomials of knots and links in S^3. We call a knot or link "real stable" (resp. "circular stable") if all the zeros of its Alexander polynomial are real (resp. unit complex). We give a general construction of real stable and circular stable knots and…
The global log canonical threshold (or Tian's alpha-invariant) plays an important role in the geometry of Fano varieties. Tian showed that Fano manifolds with big alpha-invariant can be equipped with a Kahler-Einstein metric. In recent years Donaldson drafted a programme to determine when a smooth Fano variety X admits…
In case of the heat flow on the free loop space of a closed Riemannian manifold non-triviality of Morse homology for semi-flows is established by constructing a natural isomorphism to singular homology of the loop space. The construction is also new in finite dimensions. The main idea is to build a Morse filtration usi…
In this paper, we discuss stable pairs, which were first studied by S. Paul, and give a proof for a result I learned from him. As a consequence, we will show that the K-stability implies the CM-stability.
We show examples of pairs of smooth, compact, homeomorphic 4-manifolds, whose diffeomorphism types are distinguished by the topology of the singular sets of smooth stable maps defined on them. In this distinction we rely on results from Seiberg-Witten theory.
