In this paper, we use two conformal non-homogeneous coordinate systems, modeled on the de Sitter space , to cover the conformal space , so that the conformal geometry of regular space-like hypersurfaces in is treated as that of hypersurfaces in ${\mathbb S}…

Riemannian manifolds of quasi-constant sectional curvatures (QC-manifolds) are divided into two basic classes: with positive or negative horizontal sectional curvatures. We prove that the Riemannian QC-manifolds with positive horizontal sectional curvatures are locally equivalent to canal hypersurfaces in Euclidean spa…

There are considered 4-dimensional pseudo-Riemannian spaces with inner products of signature (3,1) and (2,2). The objects of investigation are space-like and time-like hyperspheres in the respective cases. These hypersurfaces are equipped with almost contact B-metric structures. The constructed manifolds are characteri…
In this paper we provide a family of algebraic space-like surfaces in the three dimensional anti de Sitter space that shows that this Lorentzian manifold admits algebraic maximal examples of any order. Then, we classify all the space-like order two algebraic maximal hypersurfaces in the anti de Sitter -dimensional s…
We show that any element of the universal Teichmüller space is realized by a unique minimal Lagrangian diffeomorphism from the hyperbolic plane to itself. The proof uses maximal surfaces in the 3-dimensional anti-de Sitter space. We show that, in , any subset of the boundary at infinity which is the boun…
Calabi and Cheng-Yau's Bernstein-type theorem asserts that an entire zero mean curvature graph in Lorentz-Minkowski -space which admits only space-like points is a hyperplane. Recently, the third and fourth authors proved a line theorem for hypersurfaces at their degenerate light-like poi…
On a Lorentzian manifold the existence of a parallel null vector field implies certain constraint conditions on the induced Riemannian geometry of a space-like hypersurface. We will derive these constraint conditions and, conversely, show that every real analytic Riemannian manifold satisfying the constraint conditions…
A hypersurface in a Euclidean space is said to be a generalized constant ratio (GCR) hypersurface if the tangential part of its position vector is one of its principle directions. In this work, we move the study of generalized constant ratio hypersurfaces started in \cite% {YuFu2014GCRS} into the Min…

In this paper, we derived biharmonic equations for pseudo-Riemannian submanifolds of pseudo-Riemannian manifolds which includes the biharmonic equations for submanifolds of Riemannian manifolds as a special case. As applications, we proved that a pseudo-umbilical biharmonic pseudo-Riemannian submanifold of a pseudo-Rie…

On any space-like W-surface in the three-dimensional Minkowski space we introduce locally natural principal parameters and prove that such a surface is determined uniquely up to motion by a special invariant function, which satisfies a natural non-linear partial differential equation. This result can be interpreted as …

A minimal space-like surface in Minkowski space-time is said to be of general type if it is free of degenerate points. The fact that minimal space-like surfaces of general type in Minkowski space-time admit canonical parameters of the first (second) type implies that any minimal space-like surface is determined uniquel…
A space-like surface in Minkowski space-time is minimal if its mean curvature vector field is zero. Any minimal space-like surface of general type admits special isothermal parameters - canonical parameters. In this note, we prove that if a compact even dimensional manifold with negative sectional curvature is homotopic to some compact space-like manifold , then the Euler characteristic number of satisfies . We also show that the minimal volume conjecture of Gromov is tr…
In the present paper, we define the notions of Lorentzian Sabban frames and de Sitter evolutes of the unit speed space-like curves on de Sitter 2-space . In addition, we investigate the invariants and geometric properties of these curves. Afterwards, we show that space-like Bertrand curves and time-…
In this work we firstly classify space-like surfaces in Minkowski space , de-Sitter space and hyperbolic space with harmonic Gauss map. Then we give a characterization and classification of space-like surfaces with pointwise 1-type Gauss map of the first kind. We also give s…

When the vacuum Einstein equations are cast in the form of hamiltonian evolution equations, the initial data lie in the cotangent bundle of the manifold MΣ of riemannian metrics on a Cauchy hypersurface Σ. As in every lagrangian field theory with symmetries, the initial data must satisfy constraints. But, unlike those …
Calabi's Bernstein-type theorem asserts that a zero mean curvature entire graph in Lorentz-Minkowski space which admits only space-like points is a space-like plane. Using the fluid mechanical duality between minimal surfaces in Euclidean 3-space and maximal surfaces in Lorentz-Minko…
It is known that any maximal space-like surface without isotropic points in the four-dimensional pseudo-Euclidean space with neutral metric admits locally geometric parameters which are special case of isothermal parameters. We prove some Bernstein theorems for entire space-like submanifolds in pseudo-Euclidean spaces and, as a corollary, we obtain a new proof of the Calabi-Pogorelov theorem on global solutions of Monge-Ampere equations.
A complete characterization is obtained of the asymptotic behavior of solutions of the static vacuum Einstein equations which have a (pseudo)-compact horizon or boundary and are complete away from the boundary. In the Cauchy problem for asymptotically flat vacuum data the solution-jets along the cylinder at space-like infinity develop in general logarithmic singularities at the critical sets at which the cylinder touches future/past null infinity.
