Sharp upper diameter limit found for Ricci solitons.
We prove that a gradient shrinking Ricci soliton with fourth order divergence-free Riemannian tensor is rigid. For the -dimensional case, we show that any gradient shrinking Ricci soliton with fourth order divergence-free Riemannian tensor is either Einstein, or a finite quotient of the Gaussian shrinking soliton $\…
As an application of his entropy formula, Perelman proved that every compact shrinking breather is a shrinking gradient Ricci soliton. We give a proof for the complete noncompact case by using Perelman's -geometry. Our proof follows the argument in Lu and Zheng of constructing an ancient solution, and remo…
Study on 4D Ricci solitons with specific curvature properties.
Sharp Gaussian bounds derived for Schrödinger kernel on Ricci solitons.
We study closed ancient solutions to gradient flows of elliptic functionals in Riemannian manifolds, including mean curvature flow and harmonic map heat flow. Our work has various consequences. In all dimensions and codimensions, we classify ancient mean curvature flows in S^n with low area: they are steady or shrinkin…
Study on gradient Ricci solitons with isoparametric potential functions.
I classify spacelike self-similar shrinking solutions of the mean curvature flow in pseudo-euclidean space in arbitrary codimension, if the mean curvature vector is not a null vector and the principal normal vector is parallel in the normal bundle. Moreover, I exclude the existence of such self-shrinkers in several cas…
New findings on shrinking Ricci solitons with vanishing Bach-like tensors.
In this paper, we formulate the notion of the -stability of self-shrinking solutions to mean curvature flow in arbitrary codimension. Then we give some classifications of the -stable self-shrinkers in arbitrary codimension, in codimension one case, our results reduce to Colding-Minicozzi's res…
Study of ends of complete gradient Schouten solitons, showing finitely many ends for shrinking and connected infinity for expanding ones.
The study pinches the rigidity of self-shrinking surfaces in mean curvature flow.
A closed four dimensional manifold cannot possess a non-flat Ricci soliton metric with arbitrarily small -norm of the curvature. In this paper, we localize this fact in the case of shrinking Ricci solitons by proving an -regularity theorem, thus confirming a conjecture of Cheeger-Tian. As applications…
Study stability of compact Ricci solitons using entropy variations.
This paper studies rapidly forming singularities in the Yang-Mills flow. It is shown that a sequence of blow-ups near the singular point converges, modulo the gauge group, to a homothetically shrinking soliton with non-zero curvature. The proof uses Hamilton's monotonicity formula. Examples of homothetically shrinking …
In our previous work [PSSW], we showed that the Ricci flow on S^2 whose initial metric has conical singularities \sum_{j=1}^k β_j[p_j] converges to a constant curvature metric with conic singularities (in the stable and semi-stable cases) or to a gradient shrinking soliton with conical singularities (in the unstable ca…
We consider a compact, star-shaped, mean convex hypersurface . We prove that in some cases the flow exists until it shrinks to a point in a spherical manner, which is very typical for convex surfaces as well (see \cite{An1}). We also prove that in the case we have a surface of revolution which …
Study applies Huisken formula to mean curvature flow in Ricci soliton background.
Proof that certain complex equations have only simple solutions.
We use analytical and numerical methods to investigate the equations for cohomogeneity one shrinking gradient Ricci solitons. We show the existence of a winding number for this system around the subvariety of phase space corresponding to Einstein solutions and obtain some estimates for it. We prove a non-existence resu…
Study extends convergence results to noncompact Ricci flows.
We study the rigidity results for self-shrinkers in Euclidean space by restriction of the image under the Gauss map. The geometric properties of the target manifolds carry into effect. In the self-shrinking hypersurface situation Theorem 3.1 and Theorem 3.2 not only improve the previous results, but also are optimal. I…
Symmetries in shrinking Ricci solitons spread outward.
We show that if a complete Riemannian manifold supports a vector field such that the Ricci tensor plus the Lie derivative of the metric with respect to the vector field has a positive lower bound, then the fundamental group is finite. In particular, it follows that complete shrinking Ricci solitons and complete smooth …
In this paper, we classify n-dimensional (n>3) complete Bach-flat gradient shrinking Ricci solitons. More precisely, we prove that any 4-dimensional Bach-flat gradient shrinking Ricci soliton is either Einstein, or locally conformally flat hence a finite quotient of the Gaussian shrinking soliton or the round cyl…
This paper provides a study of algebraic Ricci solitons in the pseudo-Riemannian case. In the Riemannian case, all nontrivial homogeneous algebraic Ricci solitons are expanding algebraic Ricci solitons. In this paper, we obtain a steady algebraic Ricci soliton and a shrinking algebraic Ricci soliton in the Lorentzian s…
We generalize a method by L. Ambrozio, A. Carlotto, and B. Sharp to study the Morse index of closed f-minimal hypersurfaces isometrically immersed in a general weighted manifold. The technique permits, in particular, to obtain a linear lower bound on the Morse index via the first Betti number for closed f-minimal hyper…

Paper classifies 3D breathers and generalizes Ricci soliton results.
5D shrinking solitons with bounded curvature are rigid.
Paper proves rigidity for Ricci solitons with specific conditions.
We give two new proofs of Perelman's theorem that shrinking breathers of Ricci flow on closed manifolds are gradient Ricci solitons, using the fact that the singularity models of type I solutions are shrinking gradient Ricci solitons and the fact that non-collapsed type I ancient solutions have rescaled limits being sh…
New proof of shrinking gradient Ricci soliton rigidity.
We prove the following: Let (M,g,X) be a noncompact four dimensional shrinking soliton with bounded nonnegative curvature operator, then (M,g) is isometric to R^4 or a finite quotient of S^2xR^2 or S^3xR. In the process we also show that a complete shrinking soliton (M,g,X) with bounded curvature is gradient and k-nonc…
Complete shrinking soliton found on a specific complex surface.
We show that any locally conformally flat ancient solution to the Ricci flow must be rotationally symmetric. As a by-product, we prove that any locally conformally flat Ricci soliton is a gradient soliton in the shrinking and steady cases as well as in the expanding case, provided the soliton has nonnegative curvature.
The paper characterizes rigidity in harmonic-Ricci solitons.
In this note we consider versions of both Ricci and sectional curvature pinching for Riemannian manifold with density. In the Ricci curvature case the main result implies a diameter estimate that is new even for compact shrinking Ricci solitons. In the case of sectional curvature we prove a new sphere theorem.
In this paper, we will give a local version of the Hamilton-Ivey type pinching estimate of the gradient shrinking soliton with vanishing Weyl tensor, and then give a complete classification on gradient shrinking solitons with vanishing Weyl tensor.
New gradient Ricci solitons found for invariants.
The paper mainly concerns the structure at infinity for complete gradient shrinking Ricci solitons. It is shown that for such a soliton with bounded curvature, if the round cylinder occurs as a limit for a sequence of points going to infinity along an end, then the end is asymptoti…
Hidden cost: Smoothing shrinks decision boundaries, affecting class-wise accuracy.
The paper proves various inequalities on gradient shrinking Ricci solitons.
Let $\M$ be a complete, connected noncompact manifold with bounded geometry. Under a condition near infinity, we prove that the Log Sobolev functional (\ref{logfanhan}) has an extremal function decaying exponentially near infinity. We also prove that an extremal function may not exist if the condition is violated. This…
We use variational methods and a modified curvature flow to give an alternative proof of the existence of a self-shrinking torus under mean curvature flow. As a consequence of the proof, we establish an upper bound for the weighted energy of our shrinking doughnuts.
Let be a Gromov-Hausdorff limit of closed shrinking Ricci solitons with uniformly upper bounded diameter and lower bounded volume. We prove that off a closed subset of codimension at least 2, is a smooth manifold satisfying a shrinking Ricci soliton equation.
