This paper is to study the conformal scalar curvature equation on complete noncompact Riemannian manifold of nonpositive curvature. We derive some estimates and properties of supersolutions of the scalar curvature equation, and obtain some nonexistence results for complete solutions of scalar curvature equation.

Proves global existence and uniqueness of solutions for Einstein-scalar-field equations.
The Einstein-scalar field theory can be used to model gravitational physics with scalar field matter sources. We discuss the initial value formulation of this field theory, and show that the ideas of Leray can be used to show that the Einstein-scalar field system of partial differential equations is well-posed as an ev…
Unique global solutions found for specific initial data.
We establish interior estimates for convex solutions of scalar curvature equation and -Hessian equation. We also prove interior curvature estimate for isometrically immersed hypersurfaces with positive scalar curvature. These estimates are consequences of an interior estimate…
We study the constraint equations for the Einstein-scalar field system on compact manifolds. Using the conformal method we reformulate these equations as a determined system of nonlinear partial differential equations. By introducing a new conformal invariant, which is sensitive to the presence of the initial data for …
We establish new existence and non-existence results for positive solutions of the Einstein-scalar field Lichnerowicz equation on compact manifolds. This equation arises from the Hamiltonian constraint equation for the Einstein-scalar field system in general relativity. Our analysis introduces variational techniques, i…

A new Lagrangian formulation of the Raychaudhuri equation in non-Riemannian geometry.
In this paper, we consider the -soliton equation which is a degenerate fully nonlinear equation introduced by La Nave and Tian in their work on Kähler-Ricci flow on symplectic quotients. One can apply the interpretation to study finite time singularities of the Kähler-Ricci flow. As in the case of Kähler-Einstein me…
We study uniqueness of positive solutions to the conformal scalar curvature equation on complete Riemannian manifolds with constant negative scalar curvature. We apply the results to show that conformal transformations on certain complete Riemannian manifolds of constant negative scalar curvature are isometries. We als…
We survey some results on scalar curvature and properties of solutions to the Einstein constraint equations. Topics include an extended discussion of asymptotically flat solutions to the constraint equations, including recent results on the geometry of the center of mass of such solutions. We also review methods to con…

Study of charged scalar fields on Reissner-Nordström spacetimes via energy estimates.
In this paper we consider the field equations for linearized gravity and other integer spin fields on the Kerr spacetime, and more generally on spacetimes of Petrov type D. We give a derivation, using the GHP formalism, of decoupled field equations for the linearized Weyl scalars for all spin weights and identify the g…

We give existence results for solutions of the prescribed scalar curvature equation on , when the curvature function is a positive Morse function and satisfies an index-count condition.
We use the conformal method to obtain solutions of the Einstein-scalar field gravitational constraint equations. Handling scalar fields is a bit more challenging than handling matter fields such as fluids, Maxwell fields or Yang-Mills fields, because the scalar field introduces three extra terms into the Lichnerowicz e…

This paper contains a classification of all 3-dimensional manifolds with constant scalar curvature that carry a non-trivial solution of the Einstein-Dirac equation.
All second order scalar differential invariants of symplectic hyperbolic and elliptic Monge-Ampère equations with respect to symplectomorphisms are explicitly computed. In particular, it is shown that the number of independent second order invariants is equal to 7, in sharp contrast with general Monge-Ampère equations …

New formulas derived for scalar curvature in generalized Ricci flow.
We prove a priori interior curvature estimates for hypersurfaces of prescribing scalar curvature equations in dimension three. The method is motivated by the integral method of Warren and Yuan. The new observation here is that the "Lagrangian" submanifold constructed similarly as Harvey and Lawson has bounded mean curv…
In the class of metrics of a generic conformal structure there exists a distinguishing metric. This was noticed by Albert Einstein in a lesser-known paper of 1921 (Berl. Ber., 1921, pp. 261-264). We explore this finding from a geometrical point of view. Then, we obtain a family of scalar conformal invariants of weight …
In this paper, we prove a far-from-CMC result similar to the ones obtained by Holst, Nagy, Tsogtgerel and Maxwell for the conformal Einstein-scalar field constraint equations on compact Riemannian manifolds with positive (modified) Yamabe invariant.
Study Kähler metrics with constant scalar curvature using coupled equations.
In this paper, we report a "new" continuity path which links the constant scalar curvature equation to a second order elliptic equation. This is largely an expository article where we describes various aspects of geometry and analysis associated with path.
Study on positive solutions of Yamabe-type equation on spheres.
We follow the approach employed by Y. Choquet-Bruhat, J. Isenberg and D. Pollack in the case of closed manifolds and establish existence and non-existence results for the Einstein-scalar field constraint equations on asymptotically hyperbolic manifolds.
We present a conformal deformation involving a fully nonlinear equation in dimension 4, starting with positive scalar curvature. Assuming a certain conformal invariant is positive, one may deform from positive scalar curvature to a stronger condition involving the Ricci tensor. We also give a new conformally invariant …
Compact moduli space shown for Seiberg-Witten on flat scalar curvature manifold.
Recently, we have studied evolution of a family of Finsler metrics along Finsler Ricci flow and proved its convergence in short time. Here, evolution equation of the reduced -curvature and the Ricci scalar along the Finslerian Ricci flow is obtained and it is proved that the Ricci flow preserves positivity of reduc…
We first present a warped product manifold with boundary to show the non-uniqueness of the positive constant scalar curvature and positive constant boundary mean curvature equation. Next, we construct a smooth counterexample to show that the compactness of the set of "lower energy" solutions to the above equation fails…

We study the existence of a metric with zero scalar curvature maximizing the isoperimetric ratio among all zero scalar curvature metrics in a fixed conformal class of metrics on a compact manifold with boundary. The question may be reduced to an extremal problem for the harmonic extension of functions and the related n…
We obtain a priori estimates for solutions to the prescribed scalar curvature equation on . The usual non-degeneracy assumption on the curvature function is replaced by a new condition, which is necessary and sufficient for the existence of a priori estimates, when the curvature function is a positive Morse functi…
