A triharmonic map is a critical point of the 3-energy in the space of smooth maps between two Riemannian manifolds. We study a triharmonic isometric immersion into a space form of non-positively constant curvature. We show that if the domain is complete and both the 4-enegy and the L^4-norm of the tension field are fin…
We consider a non-negative biminimal properly immersed submanifold (that is, a biminimal properly immersed submanifold with ) in a complete Riemannian manifold with non-positive sectional curvature. Assume that the sectional curvature of satisfies $K^N\geq-L(1+{\rm dist}_N(\cdot, q_0)^2)^{\fra…
We study biharmonic maps between Riemannian manifolds with finite energy and finite bi-energy. We show that if the domain is complete and the target of non-positive curvature, then such a map is harmonic. We then give applications to isometric immersions and horizontally conformal submersions.
We show that for an isometric immersion of a complete Riemannian manifold into a Riemannian manifold with non-positive curvature, the norm of the mean curvature vector field is square integrable, then it is minimal. This is a partial affirmative answer of the B. Y. Chen's conjecture.
This paper has been withdrawn by the author due to serious error found in main argument.
In this paper we extend Efimov's Theorem by proving that any complete surface in with Gauss curvature bounded above by a negative constant outside a compact set has finite total curvature, finite area and is properly immersed. Moreover, its ends must be asymptotic to half-lines. We also give a partial so…
This paper studies non-compact Ricci surfaces with catenoidal ends.
A combinatorial condition is obtained for when immersed or embedded incompressible surfaces in compact 3-manifolds with tori boundary components remain incompressible after Dehn surgery. A combinatorial characterisation of hierarchies is described. A new proof is given of the topological rigidity theorem of Hass and Sc…
We classify the self-similar solutions to a class of Weingarten curvature flow of connected compact convex hypersurfaces, isometrically immersed into space forms with non-positive curvature, and obtain a new characterization of a sphere in a Euclidean space .

Analytic saddle spheres in S^3 are equators.
Let be a connected, non-compact -dimensional Riemannian manifold. In this paper we consider smooth maps with images inside a non-degenerate cone. Under quite general assumptions on , we provide a lower bound for the width of the cone in terms of the energy and the tension of and a …
We explore the relation among volume, curvature and properness of a -dimensional isometric immersion in a Riemannian manifold. We show that, when the -norm of the mean curvature vector is bounded for some , and the ambient manifold is a Riemannian manifold with bounded geometry, properness …
The paper studies minimal surfaces in deformed hyperbolic spaces and their properties.
We prove a freeness theorem for low-rank subgroups of one-relator groups. Let be a free group, and let be a non-primitive element. The primitivity rank of , , is the smallest rank of a subgroup of containing as an imprimitive element. Then any subgroup of the one-relator group $G=F/\langle…
f-Biharmonic maps are the extrema of the f-bienergy functional. f-biharmonic submanifolds are submanifolds whose defining isometric immersions are f-biharmonic maps. In this paper, we prove that an f-biharmonic map from a compact Riemannian manifold into a non-positively curved manifold with constant f-bienergy density…
We study closed non-positively curved Riemannian manifolds which admit `fat -flats': that is, the universal cover contains a positive radius neighborhood of a -flat on which the sectional curvatures are identically zero. We investigate how the fat -flats affect the cardinality of the collection …
An important theorem about biharmonic submanifolds proved independently by Chen-Ishikawa [CI] and Jiang [Ji] states that an isometric immersion of a surface into 3-dimensional Euclidean space is biharmonic if and only if it is harmonic (i.e, minimal). In a later paper [CMO2], Cadeo-Monttaldo-Oniciuc shown that the theo…
We consider differential operators acting on functions on a Riemannian surface, , of the form where is the Laplacian of , is the Gaussian curvature, is a positive constant and . Such operators arise as the stability operator of immersed in a Riemanni…
In this paper we study the local regularity of closed surfaces immersed in a Riemannian 3-manifold flowing by Willmore flow. We establish a pair of concentration-compactness alternatives for the flow, giving a lower bound on the maximal time of existence of the flow proportional to the concentration of the curvature an…

Splitting theorem for non-positively curved Lorentzian spaces.
We develop the structure theory of full isometry groups of locally compact non-positively curved metric spaces. Amongst the discussed themes are de Rham decompositions, normal subgroup structure and characterising properties of symmetric spaces and Bruhat--Tits buildings. Applications to discrete groups and further dev…
We study homogenous Weyl connections with non-positive sectional curvatures. The Cartesian product carries canonical families of Weyl connections with such a property, for any Riemmanian manifold . We prove that if a homogenous Weyl connection on a manifold, modeled on a unimodular Lie group, …
The paper proves rigidity results for non-positively curved homogeneous Finsler metrics.
The universal Teichmüller space is an infinitely dimensional generalization of the classical Teichmüller space of Riemann surfaces. It carries a natural Hilbert structure, on which one can define a natural Riemannian metric, the Weil-Petersson metric. In this paper we investigate the Weil-Petersson Riemannian curvature…
Paper finds non-positive Weyl connections on Lie groups, confirming a conjecture.
We prove two injectivity theorems for the geodesic ray transform on two-dimensional, complete, simply connected Riemannian manifolds with non-positive Gaussian curvature, also known as Cartan-Hadamard manifolds. The first theorem is concerned with bounded non-positive curvature and the second with decaying non-positive…

Conformal invariants of manifolds of non-positive scalar curvature are studied in association with growth in volume and fundamental group.
We use a local argument to prove if an -dimensional torus acts isometrically and effectively on a connected -dimensional manifold which has positive -intermediate Ricci curvature at some point, then . This symmetry rank bound generalizes those established by Gr…

Survey on harmonic maps in non-smooth spaces, focusing on rigidity.
We prove distance bounds for graphs possessing positive Bakry-Émery curvature apart from an exceptional set, where the curvature is allowed to be non-positive. If the set of non-positively curved vertices is finite, then the graph admits an explicit upper bound for the diameter. Otherwise, the graph is a subset of the …

It is shown that if a surface has negative curvature on the complement of a point , then the -valued Poincaré-Hopf index at of either distribution of principal directions on is non-positive. Conversely, any non-positive half-integer arises in this fashion. …
