A (quasi-)Hamiltonian manifold is called multiplicity free if all of its symplectic reductions are 0-dimensional. In this paper, we classify multiplicity free Hamiltonian actions for (twisted) loop groups or, equivalently, multiplicity free (twisted) quasi-Hamiltonian manifolds for simply connected compact Lie groups. …

A spatial surface is a compact surface embedded in the 3-sphere. In this paper, we provide several typical examples of spatial surfaces and construct a coloring invariant to distinguish them. The coloring is defined by using a multiple group rack, which is a rack version of a multiple conjugation quandle.

We discuss relations between linear Nambu-Poisson structures and Filippov algebras and define Filippov algebroids which are n-ary generalizations of Lie algebroids. We also prove results describing multiplicative Nambu- Poisson structures on Lie groups. In particular, we show that simple Lie groups do not admit multipl…

We compute the sheaf of automorphisms of a multiplicity free Hamiltonian manifold over its momentum polytope and show that its higher cohomology groups vanish. Together with a theorem of Losev, arXiv:math/0612561, this implies a conjecture of Delzant: a compact multiplicity free Hamiltonian manifold is uniquely determi…

Let (M,ω)(M,ω) be a connected symplectic manifold on which a connected Lie group GG acts properly and in a Hamiltonian fashion with moment map $μ:M \lra \mf g^*$. Our purpose is investigate multiplicity-free actions, giving criteria to decide a multiplicity freenes of the action. As an application we give the complete cl…

We classify compact, connected Hamiltonian and quasi-Hamiltonian manifolds of cohomogeneity one (which is the same as being multiplicity free of rank one). Here the group acting is a compact connected Lie group (simply connected in the quasi-Hamiltonian case). This work is a concretization of the more general classific…

The paper tackles fair classification with multiple sensitive features.

problem Existing fair classification methods often consider a single sensitive feature, but in practice, individuals are defined by multiple sensitive features.
method Characterizes Bayes-optimal fair classifiers for multiple sensitive features under various fairness measures, proposing in-processing and post-processing algorithms.
result Bayes-optimal fair classifiers for multiple sensitive features are instance-dependent thresholding rules that rely on a weighted sum of group membership probabilities.

We survey the concept of multiplicativity from its initial appearance in the theory of Poisson-Lie groups to the far-reaching generalizations, for multivectors and differential forms in the geometry and the generalized geometry of Lie groupoids, as well as their infinitesimal counterparts in the theory of Lie algebroid…

Screening is the problem of finding a superset of the set of non-zero entries in an unknown p-dimensional vector β* given n noisy observations. Naturally, we want this superset to be as small as possible. We propose a novel framework for screening, which we refer to as Multiple Grouping (MuG), that groups variables, pe…

A Lie 2-group GG is a category internal to the category of Lie groups. Consequently it is a monoidal category and a Lie groupoid. The Lie groupoid structure on GG gives rise to the Lie 2-algebra X(G)\mathbb{X}(G) of multiplicative vector fields, see (Berwick-Evans -- Lerman). The monoidal structure on GG gives rise to…
