In this paper we construct two groupoids from morphisms of groupoids, with one from a categorical viewpoint and the other from a geometric viewpoint. We show that for each pair of groupoids, the two kinds of groupoids of morphisms are equivalent. Then we study the automorphism groupoid of a groupoid.
This paper uses sheaf theory to model virtual knots geometrically.
In this paper we generalize harmonic maps and morphisms to the \emph{degenerate semi-Riemannian category}, in the case when the manifolds and are \emph{stationary} and the map is \emph{radical-preserving}. We characterize geometrically the notion of \emph{(generalized) horizontal (weak) conformality}…
We study a geometrical condition (PHWC) which is weaker than horizontal weak conformality. In particular, we show that harmonic maps satisfying this condition, which will be called {\em pseudoharmonic morphisms}, include harmonic morphisms and can be described as pulling back certain germs to certain other germs. Final…
New complex-valued maps found on complex geometries.
We construct a family of morphisms between Artin-Tits groups which generalise the ones constructed by J. Crisp in [Injective maps between Artin groups, Proceedings of the Special Year in Geometric Group Theory, Berlin, (1999), 119 -- 138]. We show that their restrictions to the positive Artin monoids respect normal for…
Extends six operations to sheaves in any symmetric monoidal category.
We formulate higher order variations of a Lagrangian in the geometric framework of jet prolongations of fibered manifolds. Our formalism applies to Lagrangians which depend on an arbitrary number of independent and dependent variables, together with higher order derivatives. In particular, we show that the second varia…
Develops Chern-Weil theory for singular foliations.
We solve higher-order morphisms for twisted Courant algebras.
We define, on smooth manifolds, the notions of almost twistorial structure and twistorial map, thus providing a unified framework for all known examples of twistor spaces. The condition of being harmonic morphisms naturally appears among the geometric properties of submersive twistorial maps between low-dimensional Wey…
Geometrically classifies maps from R^0|2 to any manifold, unifying theories.
We present a construction of a 2-Hilbert space of sections of a bundle gerbe, a suitable candidate for a prequantum 2-Hilbert space in higher geometric quantisation. We introduce a direct sum on the morphism categories in the 2-category of bundle gerbes and show that these categories are cartesian monoidal and abelian.…
New constraints found for algebro-geometric subgroups of mapping class groups.
Equivalences between conformal foliations on Euclidean -space, Hermitian structures on Euclidean -space, shear-free ray congruences on Minkowski -space, and holomorphic foliations on complex -space are explained geometrically and twistorially; these are used to show that 1) any real-analytic complex-valued …
We consider the local deformation problem of coisotropic submanifolds inside Poisson manifolds. To this end the groupoid of coisotropic sections (with respect to some tubular neighbourhood) is introduced. Although the geometric content of this groupoid is evident, it is usually a very intricate object. We provide a des…
Paper studies symmetries in singular foliations using Lie -morphisms.
Geometric interpretation of 3-manifold invariants using immersed curves.
We study Hamiltonian spaces associated with pairs (E,A), where E is a Courant algebroid and A\subset E is a Dirac structure. These spaces are defined in terms of morphisms of Courant algebroids with suitable compatibility conditions. Several of their properties are discussed, including a reduction procedure. This set-u…
In this paper, we introduce a category of graded commutative rings with certain algebraic morphisms, to investigate the cobordism category of plumbed 3-manifolds. In particular, we define a non-associative distributive algebra that gives necessary conditions for an abstract morphism between the homologies of two plumbe…
Classifies objects in graded skew-gentle algebras using geometric models.
New proof of Grauert's theorem using differential geometry.
We study holomorphic locally homogeneous geometric structures modelled on line bundles over the projective line. We classify these structures on primary Hopf surfaces. We write out the developing map and holonomy morphism of each of these structures explicitly on each primary Hopf surface.
Survey uses Milnor fibrations to classify first integrals of differential systems.
Let f : Y -> X be a morphism of complex projective manifolds, and let F be a subsheaf of the tangent bundle which is closed under the Lie bracket, but not necessarily a foliation. This short paper contains an elementary and very geometric argument to show that all obstructions to deforming the morphism f along the shea…
Study on deformations of Lie groupoid morphisms and their properties.
We give an exposition of graded and microformal geometry, and the language of -manifolds. -manifolds are supermanifolds endowed with an odd vector field of square zero. They can be seen as a non-linear analogue of Lie algebras (in parallel with even and odd Poisson manifolds), a basis of "non-linear homological a…
The aim of this work is the construction of a "supermanifold of morphisms ", given two finite-dimensional supermanifolds and . More precisely, we will define an object in the category of supermanifolds proposed by Molotkov and Sachse. Initially, it is given by the se…
Defines and partially characterizes p symphonic morphisms.
Study geometric structures and their interactions under different metrics.
In this paper we analyze supergeometric locally covariant quantum field theories. We develop suitable categories SLoc of super-Cartan supermanifolds, which generalize Lorentz manifolds in ordinary quantum field theory, and show that, starting from a few representation theoretic and geometric data, one can construct a f…
The paper explores new algebraic structures and morphisms in graded settings.
Defines and computes geometric pairings for discrete groups using Baum-Connes assembly map.
In this article we introduce conformal Riemannian morphisms. The idea of conformal Riemannian morphism generalizes the notions of an isometric immersion, a Riemannian submersion, an isometry, a Riemannian map and a conformal Riemannian map. We show that every injective conformal Riemannian morphism is an injective conf…
We show that thick morphisms (or microformal morphisms) between smooth (super)manifolds, introduced by us before, are classical limits of `quantum thick morphisms' defined here as particular oscillatory integral operators on functions.
We study the behavior of the modular class of a Lie algebroid under general Lie algebroid morphisms by introducing the relative modular class. We investigate the modular classes of pull-back morphisms and of base-preserving morphisms associated to Lie algebroid extensions. We also define generalized morphisms, includin…
Maps geometric deformations to algebraic classes in Lie groupoids and algebroids.
P. Baird and the second author studied harmonic morphisms from a three-dimensional simply-connected space form to a surface and obtained a complete local and global classification of them. In this paper, we obtain a description of all harmonic morphisms from any three-dimensional Euclidean and spherical space form to a…
Let $\g\_2$ be the Hochschild complex of cochains on $C^\infty(\RM^n)$ and $\g\_1$ be the space of multivector fields on $\RM^n$. In this paper we prove that given any -structure ({\rm i.e.} Gerstenhaber algebra up to homotopy structure) on $\g\_2$, and any -morphism ({\rm i.e.} morphism of co…
We define what we call morphisms of Cartan connections. We generalize the main theorems on Cartan connections to theorems on morphisms. Many of the known constructions involving Cartan connections turn out to be examples of morphisms. We prove some basic results concerning completeness of Cartan connections. We provide…
The paper extends symplectomorphism quasi-morphisms to the entire disk group.
In this paper we study the topology of the cobordism category of open and closed strings. This is a 2-category in which the objects are compact one-manifolds whose boundary components are labeled by an indexing set (the set of "D-branes"), the 1-morphisms are cobordisms of manifolds with boundary, and the 2-morphisms a…

Identifies images of determinant morphism for specific co-Higgs bundles.
We construct Hodge filtered cohomology groups for complex manifolds that combine the topological information of generalized cohomology theories with geometric data of Hodge filtered holomorphic forms. This theory provides a natural generalization of Deligne cohomology. For smooth complex algebraic varieties, we show th…
The seven non euclidean geometries of the Thurston's geometrization program are proved to originate naturally from singularization morphisms and versal deformations on euclidean 3-manifolds generated in the frame of the Langlands global program. The Poincare conjecture for a 3-manifold appears as a particular case of t…
