5 results for effect-invariance

In this paper we construct effective invariants for braid monodromy of affine curves. We also prove that, for some curves, braid monodromy determines their topology. We apply this result to find a pair of curves with conjugate equations in a number field but which do not admit any orientation-preserving homeomorphism.

Paper introduces effect-invariance for better policy generalization.

problem Adapting policies to unseen environments efficiently.
method Introduces effect-invariance, a relaxation of full invariance, and develops testing procedures to test e-invariance directly from data.
result Effect-invariance enables zero-shot and few-shot policy generalization without assuming a causal graph.

The path integral generalization of the Casson invariant as developed by Rozansky and Witten is investigated. The path integral for various three manifolds is explicitly evaluated. A new class of topological observables is introduced that may allow for more effective invariants. Finally it is shown how the dimensional …

An open question akin to the slice-ribbon conjecture asks whether every ribbon knot can be represented as a symmetric union. Next to this basic existence question sits the question of uniqueness of such representations. Eisermann and Lamm investigated the latter question by introducing a notion of symmetric equivalence…
