48 results for cohomology CROSSes

In this paper we study the cohomology of (strict) Lie 2-groups. We obtain an explicit Bott-Shulman type map in the case of a Lie 2-group corresponding to the crossed module A1A\to 1. The cohomology of the Lie 2-groups corresponding to the universal crossed modules $G\to \Aut(G)$ and $G\to \Aut^+(G)$ is the abutment of …

We use cross ratios to describe second real continuous bounded cohomology for locally compact topological groups. We also derive a rigidity result for cocycles with values in the isometry group of a proper hyperbolic geodesic metric space.

Two constructions of Chern character for equivariant vector bundles in noncommutative geometry.

result Equivalence of two constructions under proper action.

We present a deRham model for Chen-Ruan cohomology ring of abelian orbifolds. We introduce the notion of \emph{twist factors} so that formally the stringy cohomology ring can be defined without going through pseudo-holomorphic orbifold curves. Thus our model can be viewed as the classical description of Chen-Ruan cohom…

We give a precise and general description of gerbes valued in arbitrary crossed module and over an arbitrary differential stack. We do it using only Lie groupoids, hence ordinary differential geometry. We prove the coincidence with the existing notions by comparing our construction with non-Abelian cohomology.

result Positively curved manifolds with point leaf maximal SRF's are diffeo/homeomorphic to compact rank one symmetric spaces.

The number of colorings of a knot diagram by a quandle has been shown to be a knot invariant by CJKLS using quandle cohomology methods. In a previous paper by the second named author, the CJKLS invariant was refined and, in particular, it was shown that the number of colorings is an invariant directly without resorting…

We develop a Chern-Weil theory for compact Lie group action whose generic stabilizers are finite in the framework of equivariant cohomology. This provides a method of changing an equivariant closed form within its cohomological class to a form more suitable to yield localization results. This work is motivated by our w…

We consider the moduli space MN of flat unitary connections on an open Kaehler manifold U (complement of a divisor with normal crossings) with restrictions on their monodromy transformations. Using intersection and L2 cohomologies with degenerating coefficients we construct a natural symplectic form F on MN. When U is …

Let XX be a projective manifold, and DD be a normal crossing divisor of XX. By Jost-Zuo's theorem that if we have a reductive representation ρρ of the fundamental group π1(X)π_{1}(X^{*}) with unipotent local monodromy, where X=XDX^*=X-D, then there exists a tame pluriharmonic metric hh on the flat bundle V\mathcal V a…

In this paper we explain how non-abelian Hodge theory allows one to compute the L2L^2 cohomology or middle perversity higher direct images of harmonic bundles and twistor D-modules in a purely algebraic manner. Our main result is a new algebraic description for the fiberwise L2L^2 cohomology of a tame harmonic bundle o…

There exists a simplified Bar-Natan Khovanov complex for open 2-braids. The Khovanov cohomology of a knot diagram made by gluing tangles of this type is therefore often amenable to calculation.
