result Explicit calculation of the volume of constructed non-arithmetic orbifolds.

We show that closed arithmetic hyperbolic n-dimensional orbifolds with larger and larger volumes give rise to triangulations of the underlying spaces whose 1-skeletons are harder and harder to embed nicely in Euclidean space. To show this we generalize an inequality of Gromov and Guth to hyperbolic n-orbifolds and find…

Minimal non-arithmetic hyperbolic 3-orbifold found with least volume.

result The 1-cusped quotient of hyperbolic space by the tetrahedral Coxeter group has minimal volume.

We show that the conjectural cusped complex hyperbolic 2-orbifolds of minimal volume are the two smallest arithmetic complex hyperbolic 2-orbifolds. We then show that every arithmetic cusped complex hyperbolic 2-manifold of minimal volume covers one of these two orbifolds. We also give all minimal volume manifolds that…

This thesis investigates cusp cross-sections of arithmetic real, complex, and quaternionic hyperbolic nn--orbifolds. We give a smooth classification of these submanifolds and analyze their induced geometry. One of the primary tools is a new subgroup separability result for general arithmetic lattices.

The study constructs a hyperbolic orbifold to show how certain Salem numbers can be realized geometrically.

It is known that the lengths of closed geodesics of an arithmetic hyperbolic orbifold are related to Salem numbers. We initiate a quantitative study of this phenomenon. We show that any non-compact arithmetic 33-dimensional orbifold defines cQ1/2+O(Q1/4)c Q^{1/2} + O(Q^{1/4}) square-rootable Salem numbers of degree 44 which are…

Let OO be a closed nn-dimensional arithmetic (real or complex) hyperbolic orbifold. We show that the diameter of OO is bounded above by c1logvol(O)+c2h(O),\frac{c_1\log vol(O) + c_2}{h(O)}, where h(O)h(O) is the Cheeger constant of OO, vol(O)vol(O) is its volume, and constants c1c_1, c2c_2 depend only on nn.
