We present a simpler proof for the existence of adiabatic limits. Moreover, we added a new section where the adiabatic process is reversed and in some nondegenerate cases we deform the adiabatic limits to genuine irreducible solutions of the SW equations.

Study adiabatic limits of calibrated submanifolds in Riemannian geometry.
Study adiabatic limits of Calderon projector on manifolds with cylindrical ends.
We use adiabatic limits to study foliated manifolds. The Bott connection naturally shows up as the adiabatic limit of Levi-Civita connections. As an application, we then construct certain natural elliptic operators associated to the foliation and present a direct geometric proof of a vanshing theorem of Connes[Co], whi…
In this paper, we compute the adiabatic limit of the scalar curvature and prove several vanishing theorems, we also derive a Kastler-Kalau-Walze type theorem for the noncommutative residue in the case of foliations.
We obtain an asymptotic formula for the spectrum distribution function of the Laplace operator on a compact Riemannian Sol-manifold in the adiabatic limit determined by a one-dimensional foliation defined by the orbits of a left-invariant flow.
We discuss asymptotic behavior of the eigenvalue distribution of the differential form Laplacian on a Riemannian foliated manifold when the metric on the ambient manifold is blown up in directions normal to the leaves (in the adiabatic limit). Motivated by analogies with semiclassical spectral asymptotics, we use ideas…
We study the adiabatic limit of the eta invariant of the Dirac operator over cofinite quotient of PSL(2,R), which is a noncompact manifold with a nonexact fibred-cusp metric near the ends.
We study co-associative fibrations of G_{2}-manifolds. We propose that the adiabatic limit of this structure should be given locally by a maximal submanifold in a space of indefinite signature and set up global versions of the constructions.
We obtain an asymptotic formula for the eigenvalue distribution function of the Laplace-Beltrami operator on the two-dimensional torus in the adiabatic limit given by a Kronecker foliation. Related problems in number theory are discussed.
We present some recent results on the behavior of the spectrum of the differential form Laplacian on a Riemannian foliated manifold when the metric on the ambient manifold is blown up in directions normal to the leaves (in the adiabatic limit).

Defines spectral sequences for fiberwise Dirac operators and proves adiabatic limit formula.
We prove an adiabatic decomposition formula of the zeta-determinant of the Laplace type operator with respect to Dirichlet boundary condition. We allow the non-invertible tangential operator. As a result, our adiabatic decomposition formula involves the scattering matrix over the manifold with cylindrical end. We also …
We extend the calculus of adiabatic pseudo-differential operators to study the adiabatic limit behavior of the eta and zeta functions of a differential operator , constructed from an elliptic family of operators indexed by . We show that the regularized values and are smooth functions of …
Caratheodory's axiom limits arbitrage in resource-limited systems.
For a complex flat vector bundle over a fibered manifold, we consider the 1-parameter family of certain deformed sub-signature operators introduced by Ma-Zhang. We compute the adiabatic limit of the Bismut-Freed connection associated to this family and show that the Bismut-Lott analytic torsion form shows up naturally …
The paper equates the index of a vector bundle to the manifold's index and introduces an analytic torsion.
Formula connects analytic torsion forms of fibration and its pieces.
We show a relationship between Chern-Simons 1- and 3-forms and harmonic forms on a principal bundle. Doing so requires one to consider an adiabatic limit. For the 3-form case, assume that G is simple and the corresponding Chern-Weil 4-form is exact. Then, the Chern-Simons 3-form on the princpal bundle G-bundle, minus a…
Paper establishes a new formula for Atiyah-Patodi-Singer index using eta invariants.
In this paper we give a simplified proof of the flat Grothendieck-Riemann-Roch theorem. The proof makes use of the local family index theorem and basic computations of the Chern-Simons form. In particular, it does not involve any adiabatic limit computation of the reduced eta-invariant.
We present a new proof, as well as a extension, of the Riemann-Roch-Grothendieck theorem of Bismut-Lott for flat vector bundles. The main techniques used are the computations of the adiabatic limits of -invariants associated to the so-called sub-signature operators. We further show that the Bismut-Lott a…
For general Riemannian foliations, spectral asymptotics of the Laplacian is studied when the metric on the ambient manifold is blown up in directions normal to the leaves (adiabatic limit). The number of ``small'' eigenvalues is given in terms of the differentiable spectral sequence of the foliation. The asymptotics of…
The paper explores the correspondence between gradient flow lines of a function and its Lagrange multiplier functional.
In this paper, we identify the Bott connection on the natural foliation of the projective sphere bundle of a Finsler manifold to the Chern connection of this manifold. As a consequence, the symmetrization of the Bott connection turns out to be the Cartan connection of the Finsler manifold. Following Liu-Zhang \cite{Liu…
We study the behaviour of Laplace-type operators H on a complex vector bundle E M in the adiabatic limit of the base space. This space is a fibre bundle M B with compact fibres and the limit corresponds to blowing up directions perpendicular to the fibres by a factor 1/. Under a gap condi…
We extend the adiabatic limit formula for eta-invariants by Bismut-Cheeger and Dai to Seifert fibrations. Our formula contains a new contribution from the singular fibres that takes the form of a generalised Dedekind sum. As an application, we compute the Eells-Kuiper and t-invariants of certain cohomogeneity one manif…
In this article we use the adiabatic method to prove the gluing formula of real analytic torsion forms for a flat vector bundle on a smooth fibration under the assumption that the fiberwise twisted cohomology groups associated to the fibration of the cutting hypersurface are vanished. In this paper we assume that the m…
In this note we specialize and illustrate the ideas developed in the paper math.DG/0201112 of the first author ("Index theory, eta forms, and Deligne cohomology ") in the case of the determinant line bundle. We discuss the surgery formula in the adiabatic limit using the adiabatic decomposition formula of the zeta regu…
This paper studies the formal adiabatic limit of coassociative K3 fibred torsion free manifolds fibred over a contractible base, shows how to put this structure on a different fibration obtained by fibrewise performing Mukai duality of K3 surfaces, and furthermore relates the gauge theories on both fibrations by …
We study adiabatic limits of Ricci-flat Kahler metrics on a Calabi-Yau manifold which is the total space of a holomorphic fibration when the volume of the fibers goes to zero. By establishing some new a priori estimates for the relevant complex Monge-Ampere equation, we show that the Ricci-flat metrics collapse (away f…
We show the convergence properties of the eigenvalues of the Dirac operator on a spin manifold with a Riemannian flow when the metric is collapsed along the flow.
We consider the Yang-Mills equations for a matrix gauge group inside the future light cone of 4-dimensional Minkowski space, which can be viewed as a Lorentzian cone over the 3-dimensional hyperbolic space . Using the conformal equivalence of and the cylinder , we show that, in t…
The paper proves vanishing theorems for complex line bundles using a new adiabatic limit approach.
We study partial collapsing degeneration of Hamiltonian-perturbed Floer trajectories for an adiabatic -family and its reversal adiabatic gluing, as the prototype of the partial collapsing degeneration of -dimensional (perturbed) -holomorphic maps to -dimensional gradient segments. We consider the …
We prove an asymptotic formula for the number of integer points in a family of bounded domains in the Euclidean space with smooth boundary, which remain unchanged along some linear subspace and stretch out in the directions, orthogonal to this subspace. A more precise estimate for the remainder is obtained in the case …
The paper proves conditions for solutions of -equation and deformed Hermitian-Yang-Mills equation on holomorphic submersions.

We study the generating functional, the adiabatic curvature and the adiabatic phase for the integer quantum Hall effect (QHE) on a compact Riemann surface. For the generating functional we derive its asymptotic expansion for the large flux of the magnetic field, i.e., for the large degree of the positive Hermitian …
Quantum computing for machine learning attracts increasing attention and recent technological developments suggest that especially adiabatic quantum computing may soon be of practical interest. In this paper, we therefore consider this paradigm and discuss how to adopt it to the problem of binary clustering. Numerical …
We prove transverse Weitzenböck identities for the horizontal Laplacians of a totally geodesic foliation. As a consequence, we obtain nullity theorems for the de Rham cohomology assuming only the positivity of curvature quantities transverse to the leaves. Those curvature quantities appear in the adiabatic limit of the…
We study the limiting behaviour of solutions to abelian vortex equations when the volume of the underlying Riemann surface grows to infinity. We prove that the solutions converge smoothly away from finitely many points. The proof relies on a priori estimates for functions satisfying generalised Kazdan-Warner equations.…
We consider the crossed product by of the adiabatic groupoid associated with any Lie groupoid . We construct an explicit Morita equivalence between the exact sequence of order 0 pseudodifferential operators on and (a restriction of) the natural exact sequence associated with . As an imp…
Based on our recent adaptation of the adiabatic limit construction to the case of complex structures, we prove the fact that the deformation limiting manifold of any holomorphic family of Moishezon manifolds is Moishezon. Two new ingredients, hopefully of independent interest, are introduced. The first one associates w…
We study the heat flow in the loop space of a closed Riemannian manifold as an adiabatic limit of the Floer equations in the cotangent bundle. Our main application is a proof that the Floer homology of the cotangent bundle, for the Hamiltonian function kinetic plus potential energy, is naturally isomorphic to the h…
Motivated by our conjecture of an earlier work predicting the degeneration at the second page of the Frölicher spectral sequence of any compact complex manifold supporting an SKT metric (i.e. such that ), we prove degeneration at whenever the manifold admits a Hermitian metric whose t…
