The aim of the present paper is to investigate conformal changes in absolute parallelism geometry. We find out some new conformal invariants in terms of the Weitzenböck connection and the Levi-Civita connection of an absolute parallelism space.

A Lie group has a unique metric when viewed as a flat absolute parallelism.
An almost complex manifolds of real dimension 4 with non-degenerate torsion bundle admit a double absolute parallelism and it is provided the classification of homogeneous having an associated non-solvable Lie algebra. We extend such a classification to the analysis of the manifolds having an associ…
We explicitly determine the structure equations of 5-dimensional Levi 2-nondegenerate CR hypersurfaces, using our recently constructed canonical Cartan connection for this class of CR manifolds. We also give an outline of the basic properties of absolute parallelisms and Cartan connections, together with a brief discus…
In this paper we provide a \emph{global} investigation of the geometry of parallelizable manifolds (or absolute parallelism geometry) frequently used for application. We discuss the different linear connections and curvature tensors from a global point of view. We give an existence and uniqueness theorem for a remarkab…
The aim of the present paper is to construct and investigate a Finsler structure within the framework of a Generalized Absolute Parallelism space (GAP-space). The Finsler structure is obtained from the vector fields forming the parallelization of the GAP-space. The resulting space, which we refer to as a Finslerized Pa…
The importance of Einstein's geometrization philosophy, as an alternative to the least action principle, in constructing general relativity (GR), is illuminated. The role of differential identities in this philosophy is clarified. The use of Bianchi identity to write the field equations of GR is shown. Another similar …
Generalized Tanaka prolongation ensures convergence of formal embeddings of complex manifolds.
Absolute parallelism geometry is frequently used for physical applications. It has two main defects, from the point of view of applications. The first is the identical vanishing of its curvature tensor. The second is that its autoparallel paths do not represent physical trajectories. The present work shows how these de…
In this paper, we study Absolute Parallelism (AP-) geometry on the tangent bundle of a manifold . Accordingly, all geometric objects defined in this geometry are not only functions of the positional argument , but also depend on the directional argument . Moreover, many new geometric objects, which have n…
An absolute parallelism for -nondegenerate CR manifolds of hypersurface type was recently constructed independently by Isaev-Zaitsev, Medori-Spiro, and Pocchiola in the minimal possible dimension (), and for in certain cases by the first author. We develop a bigraded analog of Tanaka's prolo…

Optimized parallel algorithms for identifying strong ties in data.
We classify non-dilatonic NS-NS type II supergravity backgrounds admitting a consistent absolute parallelism. They are all given by parallelised Lie groups admitting scalar flat bi-invariant lorentzian metrics. There are seven different classes, some of them containing moduli. For each class we determine the amount of …
A field theory is constructed in the context of parameterized absolute parallelism geometry. The theory is shown to be a pure gravity one. It is capable of describing the gravitational field and a material distribution in terms of the geometric structure of the geometry used (the parallelization vector fields). Three t…
The notion of a parallelizable distribution has been introduced and investigated. A non-integrable parallelizable distribution carries a natural sub-Riemannian structure. The geometry of this structure has been studied from the bi-viewpoint of absolute parallelism geometry and sub-Riemannian geometry. Two remarkable li…
Recently, it has been shown that Absolute Parallelism (AP) geometry admits paths that are naturally quantized. These paths have been used to describe the motion of spinning particles in a background gravitational field. In case of a weak static gravitational field limits, the paths are applied successfully to interpret…

We consider the problem of estimating from sample paths the absolute spectral gap of a reversible, irreducible and aperiodic Markov chain over a finite state space . We propose the (Upper Confidence Power Iteration) algorithm for this problem, a low-complexity algorithm …
We reduce to various absolute parallelisms, namely to certain {e}-structures on manifolds of dimensions 7, 6, 5, the biholomorphic equivalence problem or the intrinsic CR equivalence problem for generic submanifolds M^5 in C^4 of CR dimension 1 and of codimension 3 that are maximally minimal and are geometry-preserving…
In this paper, we consider real hypersurfaces in (or more generally, 5-dimensional CR manifolds of hypersurface type) at uniformly Levi degenerate points, i.e. Levi degenerate points such that the rank of the Levi form is constant in a neighborhood. We also require the hypersurface to satisfy a certain s…
A geometric structure (FAP-structure), having both absolute parallelism and Finsler properties, is constructed. The building blocks of this structures are assumed to be functions of position and direction. A non-linear connection emerges naturally and is defined in terms of the building blocks of the structure. Two lin…
Develops new approach to recover CR structures from their Levi foliations.
We study grassmannians associated with a linear space with a nondegenerate hermitian form. The geometry of these grassmannians allows us to explain the relation between a (pseudo-)riemannian projective geometry and the conformal structure on its ideal boundary (absolute). Such relation encompasses, for instance, the us…
We establish a relationship between Heegaard Floer homology and the fractional Dehn twist coefficient of surface automorphisms. Specifically, we show that the rank of the Heegaard Floer homology of a 3-manifold bounds the absolute value of the fractional Dehn twist coefficient of the monodromy of any of its open book d…
An absolute parallelism (AP-) space having Finslerian properties is called FAP-space. This FAP-structure is more wider than both conventional AP and Finsler structures. In the present work, more geometric objects as curvature and torsion tensors are derived in the context of this structure. Also second order tensors, u…
New 4-manifolds with exotic diffeomorphisms found.
The classical theory of prolongation of G-structures was generalized by N. Tanaka to a wide class of geometric structures (Tanaka structures), which are defined on a non-holonomic distribution. Examples of Tanaka structures include subriemannian, subconformal, CR-structures, structures associated to second order differ…

A complete surface of constant mean curvature 1 (CMC-1) in hyperbolic 3-space with constant curvature -1 has two natural notions of "total curvature"-- one is the total absolute curvature which is the integral over the surface of the absolute value of the Gaussian curvature, and the other is the dual total absolute cur…
Absolutely partially hyperbolic surface endomorphisms have a coherent center foliation.

We analyze the sequence of time intervals between consecutive stock trades of thirty companies representing eight sectors of the U. S. economy over a period of four years. For all companies we find that: (i) the probability density function of intertrade times may be fit by a Weibull distribution; (ii) when appropriate…
The paper studies curves in Finsler-like spaces and their properties.
A classical result in Riemannian geometry states that the absolutely continuous curves into a (finite-dimensional) Riemannian manifold form an infinite-dimensional manifold. In the present paper this construction and related results are generalised to absolutely continuous curves with values in a strong Riemannian mani…
Study absolute continuity of Wasserstein barycenters on manifolds with singular cost functions.
Applying Elie Cartan's classical method, we show that the biholomorphic equivalence problem to a totally nondegenerate Beloshapka's model of CR dimension one and codimension , whence of real dimension , is reducible to some absolute parallelism, namely to an {e}-structure on a certain prolonged manifold of r…
We show how to construct absolutely exotic smooth structures on compact 4-manifolds with boundary, including contractible manifolds. In particular, we prove that any compact smooth 4-manifold W with boundary that admits a relatively exotic structure contains a pair of codimension-zero submanifolds homotopy equivalent t…
We prove that any isometry between the unit spheres of -smooth (more generally, absolutely smooth) smooth Banach spaces extends to a linear isometry of the Banach spaces. This answers the famous Tingley's problem in the class of absolutely smooth -dimensional Banach spaces.
In a recent joint work with V. Turaev (cf. math.DG/9810114) we defined a new concept of combinatorial torsion which we called absolute torsion. Compared with the classical Reidemeister torsion it has the advantage of having a well-defined sign. Also, the absolute torsion is defined for arbitrary orientable flat vector …
In this paper we discuss curvature tensors in the context of Absolute Parallelism geometry. Different curvature tensors are expressed in a compact form in terms of the torsion tensor of the canonical connection. Using the Bianchi identities some other identities are derived from the expressions obtained. These identiti…
For a strongly pseudo-convex complex Finsler manifold M, a bundle U of adapted unitary frames is canonically defined. A non-linear Hermitian connection on U, invariant under local biholomorphic isometries, is given and it proved to be unique. By means of such connection, an absolute parallelism on U is determined and a…
A compactum X is an `absolute cone' if, for each of its points x, the space X is homeomorphic to a cone with x corresponding to the cone point. In 1971, J. de Groot conjectured that each n-dimensional absolute cone is an n-cell. In this paper, we give a complete solution to that conjecture. In particular, we show that …
In this paper we use the results of our previous work in order to compute the phase of the torsion of an Euler structure in terms of its characteristic class. Also, we introduce here a new notion of an absolute torsion, which does not require a choice of any additional topological information (like an Euler structure).…
