We prove that strong finite total curvature complete hypersurfaces of (n+1)-euclidean space are proper and diffeomorphic to a compact manifold minus finitely many points. With an additional condition, we also prove that the Gauss map of such hypersurfaces extends continuously to the punctures.

The study shows strong formality in certain complex manifolds.
The strong symmetric genus of a finite group G is the smallest genus of a closed orientable topological surface on which G acts faithfully as a group of orientation preserving automorphisms. In this paper we complete the calculation of the strong symmetric genus for each finite Coxeter group excluding the group E8.

The paper classifies algebraic curves in 4-balls and their boundaries.
This work studies the strong duality of non-convex matrix factorization problems: we show that under certain dual conditions, these problems and its dual have the same optimum. This has been well understood for convex optimization, but little was known for non-convex problems. We propose a novel analytical framework an…
In this paper, we derive some local a priori estimates for Ricci flow. This gives rise to some strong uniqueness theorems. As a corollary, let be a smooth complete solution to the Ricci flow on , with the canonical Euclidean metric as initial data, then is trivial, i.e. .
New method for robust matrix completion with mixed data types.
New tensor completion method converges linearly and is highly practical.
This paper proposes a subspace decomposition method based on an over-complete dictionary in sparse representation, called "Sparse Signal Subspace Decomposition" (or 3SD) method. This method makes use of a novel criterion based on the occurrence frequency of atoms of the dictionary over the data set. This criterion, wel…
The study proves a strong parametric h-principle for minimal surfaces.
A surface of constant mean curvature (CMC) equal to in a sub-Riemannian -manifold is strongly stable if it minimizes the functional up to second order. In this paper we obtain some criteria ensuring strong stability of surfaces in Sasakian -manifolds. We also produce new exampl…
The paper explores properties of 1-surfaces in hyperbolic space and proves strong half-space theorems.
Using the classical approach we show the existence of disc type solutions to the asymptotic Plateau problem in certain Hadamard manifolds which may have arbitrarily strong curvature and volume growth.
New method improves matrix completion with functional maps.
We study completeness properties of the Sobolev diffeomorphism groups endowed with strong right-invariant Riemannian metrics when the underlying manifold is or compact without boundary. The main result is that for , the group is geodesically and me…
We consider the problem of existence of constant scalar curvature Kaehler metrics on complete intersections of sections of vector bundles. In particular we give general formulas relating the Futaki invariant of such a manifold to the weight of sections defining it and to the Futaki invariant of the ambient manifold. As…
Given a surface of higher genus, we will look at the Weil-Petersson completion of the Teichmuller space of the surface, and will study the isometric action of the mapping class group on it. The main observation is that the geometric characteristics of the setting bear strong similarities to the ones in semi-simple Lie …
We address the issue of strong cosmic censorship for T^2-symmetric spacetimes with positive cosmological constant. In the case of collisionless matter, we complete the proof of the C^2 formulation of the conjecture for this class of spacetimes. In the vacuum case, we prove that the conjecture holds for the special case…
Study collective pricing and hedging with admissible risk exchanges forming a finitely generated convex cone.
We study geometric properties of complete non-compact bounded self-shrinkers and obtain natural restrictions that force these hypersurfaces to be compact. Furthermore, we observe that, to a certain extent, complete self-shrinkers intersect transversally a hyperplane through the origin. When such an intersection is comp…
A new definition of continuous-time equilibrium controls is introduced. As opposed to the standard definition, which involves a derivative-type operation, the new definition parallels how a discrete-time equilibrium is defined, and allows for unambiguous economic interpretation. The terms "strong equilibria" and "weak …
To cure the lack of predictive power of general relativity Geroch proposed to complete the theory with an additional postulate that only "hole-free" spacetimes are permitted. I argue that this postulate is too strong -- it prohibits even the Minkowski space.
In this paper we give a complete description of the set of discrete faithful representations SH(M) uniformizing a compact, orientable, hyperbolizable 3-manifold M with incompressible boundary, equipped with the strong topology, with the description given in term of the end invariants of the quotient manifolds. As part …
In this paper, we study strong symplectic fillability and Stein fillability of some tight contact structures on negative parabolic and negative hyperbolic torus bundles over the circle. For the universally tight contact structure with twisting in -direction on a negative parabolic torus bundle, we completely d…
In his 1954 paper about the initial value problem for 2D hyperbolic nonlinear PDEs, P. Lax declared that he had "a strong reason to believe" that there must exist a well-defined class of "not genuinely nonlinear" nonlinear PDEs. In 1978 G. Boillat coined the term "completely exceptional" to denote it. In the case of $2…
In this paper we develop a global correspondence between immersed horospherically convex hypersurfaces in hyperbolic space and complete conformal metrics on domains in the sphere. We establish results on when the hyperbolic Gauss map is injective and when an immersed horospherically convex hypersurface can be unfolded …
Here, an extension of the Obata-Tanno's theorem to Finsler geometry is established and the following rigidity result is obtained; Every complete connected Finsler manifold of positive constant flag curvature is isometrically homeomorphic to an -sphere equipped with a certain Finsler metric, and vise versa.
Two groups with same profinite completion have different co-Hopfian properties.
This work explores how feature decorrelation improves self-supervised learning.
We provide an isoperimetric comparison theorem for small volumes in an -dimensional Riemannian manifold with strong bounded geometry, as in Definition , involving the scalar curvature function. Namely in strong bounded geometry, if the supremum of scalar curvature function for some $k_…
In this short note, as a simple application of the strong result proved recently by Böhm and Wilking, we give a classification on closed manifolds with 2-nonnegative curvature operator. Moreover, by the new invariant cone constructions of Böhm and Wilking, we show that any complete Riemannian manifold (with dimension $…
We use Menke's JSJ-type decomposition theorem for symplectic fillings to reduce the classification of strong and exact symplectic fillings of virtually overtwisted torus bundles to the same problem for tight lens spaces. For virtually overtwisted structures on elliptic or parabolic torus bundles, this gives a complete …
The paper defines new homotopy relations on knot projections and classifies certain knot types.
For incomplete preference relations that are represented by multiple priors and/or multiple -- possibly multivariate -- utility functions, we define a certainty equivalent as well as the utility buy and sell prices and indifference price bounds as set-valued functions of the claim. Furthermore, we motivate and introduc…

The paper proves uniqueness of Ricci flow on noncompact manifolds.
In this paper, we present a unified analysis of matrix completion under general low-dimensional structural constraints induced by {\em any} norm regularization. We consider two estimators for the general problem of structured matrix completion, and provide unified upper bounds on the sample complexity and the estimatio…
We prove a bubble tree convergence theorem for a sequence of closed Hamiltonian Stationary Lagrangian surfaces with bounded areas and Willmore energies in a complete K{ä}hler surface. We also prove two strong compactness theorems on the space of Hamiltonian stationary Lagrangian tori in and $\mathbb{CP}^2…
New metrics with non-negative scalar curvature are always Ricci-flat on certain surgeries.
We investigate the properties of correlation based networks originating from economic complex systems, such as the network of stocks traded at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). The weaker links (low correlation) of the system are found to contribute to the overall connectivity of the network significantly more than t…
Neural model learns efficient, general algorithms for various problems.
We use techniques based on the splitting tensor to explicitly integrate the Codazzi equation along the relative nullity distribution and express the second fundamental form in terms of the Jacobi tensor of the ambient space. This approach allows us to easily recover several important results in the literature on comple…
Consider vector valued harmonic maps of at most linear growth, defined on a complete non-compact Riemannian manifold with non-negative Ricci curvature. For the norm square of the pull-back of the target volume form by such maps, we report a strong maximum principle, and equalities among its supremum, its asymptotic ave…
