We define the notion of weak Minkowski metric and prove some basic properties of such metrics. We also highlight some of the important analogies between Minkowski geometry and the Funk and Hilbert geometries.

A world sheet in Lorentz-Minkowski space is a timelike submanifold consisting of a one-parameter family of spacelike submanifolds in Lorentz-Minkowski space. In this paper we investigate differential geometry of world sheets in Lorentz-Minkowski space as an application of the theory of big wave fronts.
Smooth even solutions found for a generalized convex geometry problem.
The lightlike geometry of codimension two spacelike submanifolds in Lorentz-Minkowski space has been developed in [Izumiya, S. and Romero Fuster, M. C. Selecta Mathematica (NS), 13 23--55 (2007)] which is a natural Lorentzian analogue of the classical Euclidean differential geometry of hypersurfaces. In this paper we i…
In this paper, we first establish an equivalence theorem of Minkowski spaces by using results in centro-affine differential geometry. As an application in Finsler geometry, we gives some new characterizations of Berwald spaces.
New insights from centro-affine geometry solve a key geometric conjecture.
This is a survey of results on positivity of vector bundles, inspired by the Brunn-Minkowski and Prékopa theorems. Applications to complex analysis, Kähler geometry and algebraic geometry are also discussed.
The paper develops the Finsler-like geometry on the 1-jet space for the jet conformal Minkowski (JCM) metric, which naturally extends the Minkowski metric in the Chernov-Pavlov framework. To this aim there are determined the nonlinear connection, distinguished (d-) Cartan linear connection, d-torsions and d-curvatures.…
In this paper, we establish equiform differential geometry of space and timelike curves in 4-dimensional Minkowski space. We obtain some conditions for these curves. Also, general helices with respect to their equiform curvatures are characterized.

The paper studies conformally flat cubic metrics with isotropic curvature, finding they must be Minkowski.
We discuss some aspects of the differential geometry of curves in Minkowski space. We establish the Serret-Frenet equations in Minkowski space and use them to give a very simple proof of the fundamental theorem of curves in Minkowski space. We also state and prove two other theorems which represent Minkowskian versions…

Ph.D. thesis on complex Brunn-Minkowski theory using Hilbert bundles.
Since the end of the 19th century, and after the works of F. Klein and H. Poincaré, it is well known that models of elliptic geometry and hyperbolic geometry can be given using projective geometry, and that Euclidean geometry can be seen as a "limit" of both geometries. Then all the geometries that can be obtained in t…
The paper proves new inequalities for convex hypersurfaces using centro-affine geometry.
In this paper, we introduce isoparametric functions and isoparametric hypersurfaces in Finsler manifolds and give the necessary and sufficient conditions for a transnormal function to be isoparametric. We then prove that hyperplanes, Minkowski hyperspheres and -Minkowski cylinders in a Minkowski space with -vo…
This paper proves a curvature entropy inequality for non-symmetric convex bodies.
In this paper, we study the anisotropic Minkowski problem. It is a problem of prescribing the anisotropic Gauss-Kronecker curvature for a closed strongly convex hypersurface in Euclidean space as a function on its anisotropic normals in relative or Minkowski geometry. We first formulate such problem to a Monge-Ampére t…
We give a new proof of the generalized Minkowski identities relating the higher degree mean curvatures of orientable closed hypersurfaces immersed in a given constant sectional curvature manifold. Our methods rely on a fundamental differential system of Riemannian geometry introduced by the author. We develop the notio…
This paper studies lightlike Cartan geometries and their properties.
Paper proves rigidity results for anisotropic capillary hypersurfaces.
We review part of the classical theory of curves and surfaces in -dimensional Lorentz-Minkowski space. We focus in spacelike surfaces with constant mean curvature pointing the differences and similarities with the Euclidean space.
Fundamental solutions found for PDEs in Finsler geometry.
We prove that there does not exist global-in-time axisymmetric solutions to the time-like minimal submanifold system in Minkowski space. We further analyze the limiting geometry as the maximal time of existence is approached.

Lecture notes from the mini-course "Topics in Lorentz Geometry" taught at the University of São Paulo, in March/2019. The text has three parts: (i) an overall view of linear algebra in the pseudo-Euclidean space , with focus on Lorentz-Minkowski space and its role in Physics; (ii) a version of the Funda…
We introduce and study deformation of Minkowski norms in , determined by a set of linearly independent 1-forms and a smooth positive function of variables. In particular, the -image of a Euclidean norm is a Minkowski norm, whose indicat…
This paper classifies solutions to a specific hyperbolic geometry problem.
The Penrose inequality in Minkowski is a geometric inequality relating the total outer null expansion and the area of closed, connected and spacelike codimension-two surfaces S in the Minkowski spacetime, subject to an additional convexity assumption. In a recent paper, Brendle and Wang find a sufficient condition for …
We use the isotropic projection of Laguerre geometry in order to establish a correspondence between plane curves and null curves in the Minkowski -space. We describe the geometry of null curves (Cartan frame, pseudo-arc parameter, pseudo-torsion, pairs of associated curves) in terms of the curvature of the correspon…
Study confirms equivalence in Heisenberg groups between curvature-dimension conditions and strong Brunn-Minkowski inequalities.
Study confirms the uniqueness of the unit sphere for a specific geometric problem.
Finsler space is differentiable manifold for which Minkowski space is the fiber of the tangent bundle. To understand structure of the reference frame in Finsler space, we need to understand the structure of orthonormal basis in Minkowski space. In this paper, I considered the definition of orthonormal basis in Minkowsk…

Simplifies Wulff theorem for crystalline shapes using Minkowski Theory.
The geometry and topology of complete nonorientable maximal surfaces with lightlike singularities in the Lorentz-Minkowski 3-space are studied. Some topological congruence formulae for surfaces of this kind are obtained. As a consequence, some existence and uniqueness results for maximal Moebius strips and maximal Klei…
In this paper, we develop several related finite dimensional variational principles for discrete optimal transport (DOT), Minkowski type problems for convex polytopes and discrete Monge-Ampere equation (DMAE). A link between the discrete optimal transport, discrete Monge-Ampere equation and the power diagram in computa…
Researchers solve a formally determined inverse problem in Lorentzian geometry.
In a seminal paper "Volumen und Oberfläche" (1903), Minkowski introduced the basic notion of mixed volumes and the corresponding inequalities that lie at the heart of convex geometry. The fundamental importance of characterizing the extremals of these inequalities was already emphasized by Minkowski himself, but has to…
The Minkowski inequality is a classical inequality in differential geometry, giving a bound from below, on the total mean curvature of a convex surface in Euclidean space, in terms of its area. Recently there has been interest in proving versions of this inequality for manifolds other than R^n; for example, such an ine…
New theorem disproves Angle Defect for super triangles.
We investigate the geometric properties of lightlike surfaces in the Minkowski space , using Cartan's method of moving frames to compute a complete set of local invariants for such surfaces. Using these invariants, we give a complete local classification of lightlike surfaces of constant type in an…
We highlight the relation between the projective geometries of -dimensional Euclidean, spherical and hyperbolic spaces through the projective models of these spaces in the -dimensional Minkowski space, using a cross ratio notion which is proper to each of the three geometries.
