We show that the unit tangent bundle of S^4 and a real cohomology CP^3 admit Riemannian metrics with positive sectional curvature almost everywhere. These are the only examples so far with positive curvature almost everywhere that are not also known to admit positive curvature.

This paper discusses how ML enhances HPC simulations.
Update rules for learning in dynamic time warping spaces are based on optimal warping paths between parameter and input time series. In general, optimal warping paths are not unique resulting in adverse effects in theory and practice. Under the assumption of squared error local costs, we show that no two warping paths …
A knot (or link) diagram is said to be everywhere equivalent if all the diagrams obtained by switching one crossing represent the same knot (or link). We classify such diagrams of a closed 3-braid.
We give a proof that Brakke's mean curvature flow under the unit density assumption is smooth almost everywhere in space-time. More generally, if the velocity is equal in a weak sense to its mean curvature plus some given α-Hölder continuous vector field, then we show C^{2,α} regularity almost everywhere.
We consider harmonic maps into pseudo-Riemannian manifolds. We show the removability of isolated singularities for continuous maps, i.e. that any continuous map from an open subset of R^m into a pseudo-Riemannian manifold which is two times continuously differentiable and harmonic everywhere outside an isolated point i…
We will prove that \emph{there are no stable complete hypersurfaces of with zero scalar curvature, polynomial volume growth and such that everywhere, for some constant }, where denotes the Gauss-Kronecker curvature and denotes the mean curvature of the immersion. …
New manifolds found with almost everywhere positive curvature.
We show that there exists an integrable function on the -sphere , whose Cesàro (C,) means with respect to the spherical harmonic expansion diverge unboundedly almost everywhere. By studying equivalence theorems, we also obtain the corresponding results for Riesz and Bochner-Riesz means. This…
On the unit sphere in a real Hilbert space , we derive a binary operation such that is a power-associative Kikkawa left loop with two-sided identity , i.e., it has the left inverse, automorphic inverse, and properties. The operation is co…
Maximal causal curves for Lipschitz metrics are either lightlike or timelike.
In this paper, we mainly investigate continuity, monotonicity and differentiability for the first eigenvalue of the -Laplace operator along the Ricci flow on closed manifolds. We show that the first -eigenvalue is strictly increasing and differentiable almost everywhere along the Ricci flow under some curvature a…
In Heisenberg groups, rectifiability is studied for subsets using -regular surfaces.
The study proves the existence of complete Kähler metrics with negative holomorphic bisectional curvature in specific domains.
A new model for the stock market price analysis is proposed. It is suggested to look at price as an everywhere discontinuous function of time of bounded variation.
We prove a Frobenius-type theorem for singular distributions generated by a family of locally Lipschitz continuous vector fields satisfying almost everywhere a quantitative finite type condition.
A new model for the stock market price analysis is proposed. It is suggested to look at price as an everywhere discontinuous function of time of bounded variation.
Proves conjecture for symmetric manifolds with positive scalar curvature.
The -cosine transform of an even, continuous function $f\in C_e(\Sn)$ is defined by: $$H(x)=\int_{\Sn}|\ip{x}ξ|^pf(ξ) dξ,\quad x\in {\R}^n.$$ It is shown that if is not an even integer then all partial derivatives of even order of up to order (including if is an odd integer) exist and ar…

DeepHoyer introduces differentiable, scale-invariant sparsity measures for neural networks.
We give an explicit construction of a closed curve with constant torsion and everywhere positive curvature. We also discuss the restrictions on closed curves of constant torsion when they are constrained to lie on convex surfaces.
We show that if a compact complex manifold admits a Kähler metric whose holomorphic sectional curvature is everywhere non positive and strictly negative in at least one point, then its canonical bundle is positive.
We give a necessary and sufficient condition on a Randers space for the existence of a measure for which Shen's S-curvature vanishes everywhere. Moreover, such a measure coincides with the Busemann-Hausdorff measure up to a constant multiplication.
Counterexamples to continuity of optimal transportation on Riemannian manifolds with everywhere positive sectional curvature are provided. These examples show that the condition A3w of Ma, Trudinger, & Wang is not guaranteed by positivity of sectional curvature.
We consider a class of globally hyperbolic space-times with "expanding singularities". Under suitable assumptions we show that no -extensions across a compact boundary exist, while the boundary must be null wherever differentiable (which is almost everywhere) in the non-compact case.
Most Finsler metrics have infinite-dimensional holonomy groups.
We build blowing-up solutions for linear perturbation of the Yamabe problem on manifolds with umbilic boundary, provided the Weyl tensor is nonzero everywhere on the boundary and the dimension of the manifold is n>10.
A special Kähler-Ricci potential on a Kähler manifold is any nonconstant function such that is a Killing vector field and, at every point with , all nonzero tangent vectors orthogonal to and are eigenvectors of both and the Ricci tensor. For instan…
We build blowing-up solutions for linear perturbation of the Yamabe problem on manifolds with boundary, provided the dimension of the manifold is n>6 and the trace-free part of the second fundamental form is non-zero everywhere on the boundary.
Let L be any infinite biperiodic alternating link. We show that for any sequence of finite links that Folner converges almost everywhere to L, their determinant densities converge to the Mahler measure of the 2-variable characteristic polynomial of the toroidal dimer model on an associated biperiodic graph.
Harmonic functions of two variables are exactly those that admit a conjugate, namely a function whose gradient has the same length and is everywhere orthogonal to the gradient of the original function. We show that there are also partial differential equations controlling the functions of three variables that admit a c…
On pseudo-Riemannian manifolds of even dimension , with everywhere vanishing (Fefferman-Graham) obstruction tensor, we construct a complex of conformally invariant differential operators. The complex controls the infinitesimal deformations of obstruction-flat structures, and, in the case of Riemannian signatur…
We prove the result stated in the title; it is equivalent to the existence of a regular point of the sub-Riemannian exponential mapping. We also prove that the metric is analytic on an open everywhere dense subset in the case of a complete real-analytic sub-Riemannian manifold.

Heat flow fails to preserve concavity in curved spaces.
A random group contains many subgroups which are isomorphic to the fundamental group of a compact hyperbolic 3-manifold with totally geodesic boundary. These subgroups can be taken to be quasi-isometrically embedded. This is true both in the few relators model, and the density model of random groups (at any density les…
We provide a condition for spatial curves which rules out the development of a type I singularity. The condition is that after the last time for which an inflection point develops, if the torsion is ever everywhere non-negative, the curve cannot develop a type I singularity.
The paper explores unique continuation properties for polyharmonic maps between Riemannian manifolds.
Nontrivial infinitesimal bendings for a class of two-dimensional surfaces are constructed. The surfaces considered here are orientable; compact; with boundary; have positive curvature everywhere except at finitely many planar points; and have vanishing first homology group. As a consequence, a nonrigidity result for suc…
For an irreducible orientable compact -manifold with empty or incompressible toral boundary, the full --Alexander torsion associated to any real first cohomology class of is represented by a function of a positive real variable . The paper shows that is continuous…
Given a warped product space with logarithmically convex warping function , we prove a relative isoperimetric inequality for regions bounded between a subset of a vertical fiber and its image under an almost everywhere differentiable mapping in the horizontal direction. In particular, given…
Infinite-time blow-up in high-dimensional mean curvature flow.
We showed earlier that the level set function of a monotonic advancing front is twice differentiable everywhere with bounded second derivative. We show here that the second derivative is continuous if and only if the flow has a single singular time where it becomes extinct and the singular set consists of a closed $C^1…
We show that if a homeomorphism between the ideal boundaries of two Fuchsian buildings preserves the combinatorial cross ratio almost everywhere, then it extends to an isomorphism between the Fuchsian buildings. It follows that Mostow rigidity holds for Fuchsian buildings: if a group acts properly and cocompactly on tw…
