48 results for Khovanov-Rozansky homomorphisms

Short note on braid index and quasipositivity of certain pretzel knots.

problem Calculating braid index and identifying quasipositive status for specific pretzel knots.
method Used Morton-Franks-Williams inequalities and Khovanov-Rozansky concordance homomorphisms.
result Determined braid index and identified quasipositivity for knots with even crossings in one strand.

We show that the information contained in the associated graded vector space to Gornik's version of Khovanov-Rozansky knot homology is equivalent to a single even integer s_n(K). Furthermore we show that s_n is a homomorphism from the smooth knot concordance group to the integers. This is in analogy with Rasmussen's in…

It is well-known that generic perturbations of the complex Frobenius algebra used to define Khovanov cohomology each give rise to Rasmussen's concordance invariant s. This gives a concordance homomorphism to the integers and a strong lower bound on the smooth slice genus of a knot. Similar behavior has been observed in…

New proof of Khovanov-Rozansky homology base point independence in finite characteristic.

problem Base point independence of Khovanov-Rozansky homology in characteristic pp.
method New proof using infinitesimal symmetries of gl(p)\mathfrak{gl}(p)-homology.
result Proof of base point independence in characteristic pp.

We generalize the Khovanov-Rozansky cohomology for n=2 by means of a homogeneous potential that depends on two parameters, to obtain the universal Khovanov-Rozansky sl(2) link cohomology. This theory is equivalent to the universal foam sl(2) link cohomology, after tensoring both theories with appropriate rings.

We investigate the Khovanov-Rozansky invariant of a certain tangle and its compositions. Surprisingly the complexes we encounter reduce to ones that are very simple. Furthermore, we discuss a "local" algorithm for computing Khovanov-Rozansky homology and compare our results with those for the "foam" version of sl_3-hom…

We review Bennequin type inequalities established using various versions of the Khovanov-Rozansky cohomology. Then we give a new proof of a Bennequin type inequality established by the author, and derive new Bennequin type inequalities for knots using Gornik's version of the Khovanov-Rozansky cohomology, which generali…

We prove that the full twist is a Serre functor in the homotopy category of type A Soergel bimodules. As a consequence, we relate the top and bottom Hochschild degrees in Khovanov-Rozansky homology, categorifying a theorem of Kálmán.

Lobb observed in [arXiv:1103.1412] that each equivariant sl(N) Khovanov-Rozansky homology over C[a] admits a standard decomposition of a simple form. In the present paper, we derive a formula for the corresponding Lee-Gornik spectral sequence in terms of this decomposition. Based on this formula, we give a simple alter…

We prove the quantum filtration on the Khovanov-Rozansky link cohomology H_p with a general degree (n+1) monic potential polynomial p(x) is invariant under Reidemeister moves, and construct a spectral sequence converging to H_p that is invariant under Reidemeister moves, whose E_1 term is isomorphic to the Khovanov-Roz…

We show that the limiting unicolored sl(N)\mathfrak{sl}(N) Khovanov-Rozansky chain complex of any infinite positive braid categorifies a highest-weight projector. This result extends an earlier result of Cautis categorifying highest-weight projectors using the limiting complex of infinite torus braids. Additionally, we sh…

We describe the universal target of annular Khovanov-Rozansky link homology functors as the homotopy category of a free symmetric monoidal category generated by one object and one endomorphism. This categorifies the ring of symmetric functions and admits categorical analogues of plethystic transformations, which we use…

Link homology compared with geometric link invariants using Bott-Samelson varieties.

problem Comparing different link homology theories with geometric link invariants.
method Using Khovanov-Rozansky homology and equivariant cohomology applied to Bott-Samelson varieties.
result Equivariant integral sl(n) link homology with specialized or universal potential.

We introduce an sl(n) homology theory for knots and links in the thickened annulus. To do so, we first give a fresh perspective on sutured annular Khovanov homology, showing that its definition follows naturally from trace decategorifications of enhanced sl(2) foams and categorified quantum gl(m), via classical skew Ho…

We define a wall-crossing morphism for Khovanov-Rozansky homology; that is, a map between the KR homology of knots related by a crossing change. Using this map, we extend KR homology to an invariant of singular knots categorifying the Vasilliev derivative of the HOMFLY polynomial, and of sln\mathfrak{sl}_n quantum invar…

We use Khovanov-Rozansky gl(N) link homology to define invariants of oriented smooth 4-manifolds, as skein modules constructed from certain 4-categories with well-behaved duals. The technical heart of this construction is a proof of the sweep-around property, which makes these link homologies well defined in the 3-sphe…

We explain how Queffelec-Sartori's construction of the HOMFLY-PT link polynomial can be interpreted in terms of parabolic Verma modules for gl2n\mathfrak{gl}_{2n}. We establish some inequalities about the Khovanov-Rozansky cohomologies of braids. Symmetric function LM,NL_{M,N} lifts torus link homology.

method Defined a symmetric function LM,NL_{M,N} and showed it satisfies a recursion for torus link homology.
result Triply-graded Khovanov-Rozansky homology of torus links is a specialization of LM,NL_{M,N}.

We define a limiting slN\mathfrak{sl}_N Khovanov-Rozansky homology for semi-infinite positive multi-colored braids, and we show that this limiting homology categorifies a highest-weight projector for a large class of such braids. Motivated by the works of Krasner [arXiv:0801.4018] and Lobb [arXiv:1103.1412], we simplify the Khovanov-Rozansky chain complexes of open 2-braids.
