Khovanov and Rozansky's categorification of the HOMFLY-PT polynomial is invariant under braidlike isotopies for any link diagram and Markov moves for braid closures. To define HOMFLY-PT homology, they required a link to be presented as a braid closure, because they did not prove invariance under the other oriented Reid…
Study HOMFLY-PT homology structure for knots up to 11 crossings.
Constructs -ifications of Khovanov homology and proves compatibility with HOMFLY--PT.
We define reduced colored sl(N) link homologies and use deformation spectral sequences to characterize their dependence on color and rank. We then define reduced colored HOMFLY-PT homologies and prove that they arise as large N limits of sl(N) homologies. Together, these results allow proofs of many aspects of the phys…
Knot diagrams can have isomorphic homologies, challenging HOMFLY-PT theory.
The (untwisted) oriented cube of resolutions for knot Floer homology assigns a complex to a singular resolution of a knot . Manolescu conjectured that when is in braid position, the homology is isomorphic to the HOMFLY-PT homology of . Together with a naturality condition on t…
We study the relationship between the HOMFLY and sl(N) knot homologies introduced by Khovanov and Rozansky. For each N>0, we show there is a spectral sequence which starts at the HOMFLY homology and converges to the sl(N) homology. As an application, we determine the KR-homology of knots with 9 crossings or fewer.
In this paper we compute the reduced HOMFLY-PT homologies of the Conway and the Kinoshita-Terasaka knots and show that they are isomorphic.
Let be the spectral sequence induced by the oriented cube of resolutions on knot Floer homology. We prove that is a triply graded link invariant whose graded Euler characteristic is the HOMFLY-PT polynomial and that the higher pages are link invariants. By construction, the spectral sequen…
New knot homology invariant grows exponentially with color.
Using the diagrammatic calculus for Soergel bimodules, developed by B. Elias and M. Khovanov, as well as Rasmussen's spectral sequence, we construct an integral version of HOMFLY-PT and sl(n)-link homology.
The abstract conjectures a link between knot homologies and quiver partition functions.
We show that the limiting unicolored Khovanov-Rozansky chain complex of any infinite positive braid categorifies a highest-weight projector. This result extends an earlier result of Cautis categorifying highest-weight projectors using the limiting complex of infinite torus braids. Additionally, we sh…
It is known that knot homologies admit a physical description as spaces of open BPS states. We study operators and algebras acting on these spaces. This leads to a very rich story, which involves wall crossing phenomena, algebras of closed BPS states acting on spaces of open BPS states, and deformations of Landau-Ginzb…
We conjecture the existence of four independent gradings in the colored HOMFLY homology. We describe these gradings explicitly for the rectangular colored homology of torus knots and make qualitative predictions of various interesting structures and symmetries in the colored homology of general knots. We also give a si…
Researchers establish a connection between knot homology and Lie algebra actions.
We examine the relationship between the (untwisted) knot Floer cube of resolutions and HOMFLY-PT homology. By using a filtration induced by additional basepoints on the Heegaard diagram for a knot , we see that the filtered complex decomposes as a direct sum of HOMFLY-PT homologies of various subdiagrams. Jaeger's c…
New proofs of knot detection using instanton Floer homology.
Kanenobu has given infinite families of knots with the same HOMFLY polynomials. We show that these knots also have the same sl(n) and HOMFLY homologies, thus giving the first example of an infinite family of knots undistinguishable by these invariants. This is a consequence of a structure theorem about the homologies o…
Geometrically computes sheaves linking HOMFLY-PT homology to Hilbert schemes.
We conjecture an expression for the dimensions of the Khovanov-Rozansky HOMFLY homology groups of the link of a plane curve singularity in terms of the weight polynomials of Hilbert schemes of points scheme-theoretically supported on the singularity. The conjecture specializes to our previous conjecture relating the HO…
We first study superpolynomial associated to triply-graded reduced colored HOMFLY-PT homology. We propose conjectures of congruent relations and cyclotomic expansion for it. We prove conjecture of for torus knot case, through which we obtain the corresponding invariant . This is closely r…
New knot homologies detect non-fibered knots, expanding on previous results.
The paper connects knot homology, quantum 6j-symbols, and complements of knots.
We introduce a formula for the action of Dehn twists on the HOMFLY-PT type skein module of a surface. As an application of the formula to mapping class group, we give an embedding from the Torelli group of a surface of genus with non-empty connected boundary into the completed HOMFLY-PT type skein algebra…
This note is a write-up of a talk given by the author at the Meeting of the Sociedade Portuguesa de Matematica in July 2012. We describe Jaeger's HOMFLY-PT expansion of the Kauffman polynomial and how to generalize it to other quantum invariants using the so-called "branching rules" for Lie algebra representations. We …
We show that for a special alternating link diagram, the following three polynomials are essentially the same: a) the part of the HOMFLY polynomial that corresponds to the leading term in the Alexander polynomial; b) the -vector for a triangulation of the root polytope of the Seifert graph and c) the enumerator of p…
We compute the reduced version of Khovanov and Rozansky's sl(N) homology for two-bridge knots and links. The answer is expressed in terms of the HOMFLY polynomial and signature.
We define a wall-crossing morphism for Khovanov-Rozansky homology; that is, a map between the KR homology of knots related by a crossing change. Using this map, we extend KR homology to an invariant of singular knots categorifying the Vasilliev derivative of the HOMFLY polynomial, and of quantum invar…
In analogy with a recursive formula for the HOMFLY-PT polynomial of links given by Jaeger, we give a recursive formula for the graph polynomial introduced by Kauffman and Vogel. We show how this formula extends to the Khovanov-Rozansky graph homology.
We study singularities of algebraic curves associated with 3d N=2 theories that have at least one global flavor symmetry. Of particular interest is a class of theories T_K labeled by knots, whose partition functions package Poincare polynomials of the S^r-colored HOMFLY homologies. We derive the defining equation, call…
This article addresses the two significant aspects of Ozsváth and Szabó's knot Floer cube of resolutions that differentiate it from Khovanov and Rozansky's HOMFLY-PT chain complex: (1) the use of twisted coefficients and (2) the appearance of a mysterious non-local ideal. Our goal is to facilitate progress on Rasmussen…
Researchers map knot complements using 3d theories and half-index calculations.
This paper considers the invariance of knot Floer homology in a purely algebraic setting, without reference to Heegaard diagrams, holomorphic disks, or grid diagrams. We show that (a small modification of) Ozsváth and Szabó's cube of resolutions for knot Floer homology, which is assigned to a braid presentation with a …
Computes Khovanov homology for 2-strand braids via graph relations.
We describe a family of 3d topological B-models whose target spaces are Hilbert schemes of points in . The interfaces separating theories with different numbers of points correspond to braid strands. The Hilbert space of the picture of a closed braid is the HOMFLY-PT homology of the corresponding link.
New polynomial criterion for periodic knots identified.
We explain how Queffelec-Sartori's construction of the HOMFLY-PT link polynomial can be interpreted in terms of parabolic Verma modules for . Lifting the construction to the world of categorification, we use parabolic 2-Verma modules to give a higher representation theory construction of Khovanov-Ro…
Planar decomposition simplifies HOMFLY polynomial calculation for certain knots and links.
Genus 2 mutation is the process of cutting a 3-manifold along an embedded closed genus 2 surface, twisting by the hyper-elliptic involution, and gluing back. This paper compares genus 2 mutation with the better-known Conway mutation in the context of knots in the 3-sphere. Despite the fact that any Conway mutation can …
We give a new definition of the knot invariant associated to the Lie algebra su_{N+1}. The knot or link must be presented as the plat closure of a braid. The invariant is then a homological intersection pairing between two submanifolds of a configuration space of points in a disk. This generalizes previous work on the …
We study the structural properties of colored Kauffman homologies of knots. Quadruple-gradings play an essential role in revealing the differential structure of colored Kauffman homology. Using the differential structure, the Kauffman homologies carrying the symmetric tensor products of the vector representation for th…
We sketch a construction of Legendrian Symplectic Field Theory (SFT) for conormal tori of knots and links. Using large duality and Witten's connection between open Gromov-Witten invariants and Chern-Simons gauge theory, we relate the SFT of a link conormal to the colored HOMFLY-PT polynomials of the link. We presen…
We find approximations by Vassiliev invariants for the coefficients of the Jones polynomial and all specializations of the HOMFLY and Kauffman polynomials. Consequently, we obtain approximations of some other link invariants arising from the homology of branched covers of links.
New method computes automorphisms of surface groups using skein algebras.
This work reconstructs knot invariants from Alexander polynomials, proving consistency with known theorems.
M. Khovanov and L. Rozansky gave a categorification of the HOMFLY-PT polynomial. This study is a generalization of the Khovanov-Rozansky homology. We define a homology associated to the quantum link invariant, where is the set of the fundamental representations of the quantum group of $sl…
