48 results for 4k+3

Using the concept of s-formality we are able to extend the bounds of a Theorem of Miller and show that a compact k-connected 4k+3- or 4k+4-manifold with b_{k+1}=1 is formal. We study k connected n-manifolds, n= 4k+3, 4k+4, with a hard Lefschetz-like property and prove that in this case if b_{k+1}=2, then the manifold i…

Based on projective representations of smooth Deligne cohomology groups, we introduce an analogue of the space of conformal blocks to compact oriented (4k+2)-dimensional Riemannian manifolds with boundary. For the standard (4k+2)-dimensional disk, we compute the space concretely to prove that its dimension is finite.

We give three formulas expressing the Smale invariant of an immersion f of a (4k-1)-sphere into (4k+1)-space. The terms of the formulas are geometric characteristics of any generic smooth map g of any oriented 4k-dimensional manifold, where g restricted to the boundary is an immersion regularly homotopic to f in (6k-1)…

Weierstrass representation is a classical parameterization of minimal surfaces. However, two functions should be specified to construct the parametric form in Weierestrass representation. In this paper, we propose an explicit parametric form for a class of parametric polynomial minimal surfaces of arbitrary degree. It …

We calculate the smooth structure set of Sp×SqS^p \times S^q, S(p,q)S(p, q), for p,q2p, q \geq 2 and p+q5p+q \geq 5. As a consequence we show that in general S(4j1,4k)S(4j-1, 4k) cannot admit a group structure such that the smooth surgery exact sequence is a long exact sequence of groups.
